There are so many fun storyline running on the show right now that’s garnering all of the attention, but there’s one that has ‘General Hospital’ Spoilers wondering if the pacing will be a huge mistake.
It wasn’t too long ago John J. York (Mac Scorpio) announced he’s got a blood disease and would seek treatment, and it looks like he’s currently on his break for that and we wish him all the best.
We’ve been a fan of his for years, going all the way back to Fox’s series ‘Werewolf’. Yes, we’re that old.
So when we started watching ‘General Hospital’ it was cool to see him in action again and we’ve loved seeing him every time he’s appeared.
But the pacing of the show could rob us and fans in general of a great reunion when Cody Bell (Josh Kelly) finally gets his head on straight and tells Mac he’s his son.
It’ll be a great moment, but like everything else, it takes time.
‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: It should’ve happened by now
Obviously, it’s no one’s fault the timing worked out the way it did and again, it’s no one’s fault John is sick. It’s just one of those storylines that doesn’t seem to need to be so drawn out, unless there’s something extra dramatic planned for the big reveal.
Like a disease only a family member can help with.
It’d be coincidental, wouldn’t it?
To be fair, with all of the other storylines going on, it makes sense it wasn’t a priority as Cody had other things to worry about, but still it feels like a missed moment until now.
The treatments will most likely be a success, and then it’s a matter of time until Mac comes back to our screens. But what if?
‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: What if?
This is the part that’s hard for us write, but it’s a question we’ve been wondering about and it’s what if something does go wrong?
There’s no doubt the show will use it as a story formula to torture Cody even more and create more depth for the character, but they’ll miss out on so many other opportunities they could’ve had otherwise.
It’s one of the maddening things when it comes to the drawn out style soap operas work at since it’s impossible to know what will happen from one moment to the other.
With all of this being said, we wish John the best and a happy recovery and we’re looking forward to seeing him back in Port Charles.
