‘General Hospital’ (GH) spoilers tease that Giovanni “Gio” Palmieri (Giovanni Mazza) and Emma Drake (Braedyn Bruner) may soon get together on the soap.
‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Gio’s Kind Nature Would Balance Emma’s Mischievousness
Their chance meeting at Rice Plaza on Christmas Eve foreshadows a new romance for them. It’s about time Gio got a storyline on GH.
He’s a talented violinist and seems like a sweet kid. He’s gotten close to Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali) and Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) and has been a refreshing addition to the youth set on the soap.
Bruner seems like she’d be a great match for Mazza. She’s on the adventurous side and has a free spirit, which would be perfectly balanced with Gio’s kind-natured, responsible personality. She could be the one to bring Gio out of his shell.
Emma is the daughter of Robin Scorpio (Kimberly McCullough) and Patrick Drake (Jason Thompson). She hasn’t been in Port Charles in several years. However, has stayed in touch with her grandparents, Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) and Robert Scorpio (Tristian Rogers).
Apparently, she’s a bit of a troublemaker. On Halloween, she threw a party in her dorm, and it “got out of hand,” causing damage to the building. Subsequently, she was expelled from school and decided to try her luck at PCU. Gio could be the kind of friend Anna would want for Emma.
Gio recently spoke to Brook Lynn Quartermaine (Amanda Setton) about not having too many friends in town. It was close to Christmas, and Brook Lynn had asked him why he was at the Quartermaines’ wrapping gifts with her when he could be out having fun.

Gio confided in her that he didn’t have much social life. The poor kid probably spends all his free time practicing violin; he’s that good of a musician.
There’s been some speculation regarding Gio’s parentage. It’s suspected that he’s the long-lost son of Brook Lynn and Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) after their brief relationship at camp when they were teenagers.
Whether or not that’s true, Gio could help Emma acclimate to PCU and spend time with her. At first, it seemed like the soap was heading toward a Trina and Gio airing, but now it looks like Gio and Emma may be a new young couple on GH.
Gio is an interesting character because his family history hasn’t been established yet, which is always a fun reveal. However, forming a new friendship with Emma would be a good starting point for developing Gio’s story further.
It’s entirely possible that Gio could be Brook Lynn and Dante’s son, which would cement his place in the Quartermaine family. Brook Lynn may not know she’s Gio’s mother, but we are willing to bet Lois Cerullo (Rena Sofer) knows!
Emma and Gio could end up having more in common than they expected and forge a strong bond. They would make an adorable couple.
The younger set needs more levity and fun injected into it, especially since we just lost “Jex” when Dex Heller (Evan Hofer) died. Gio is a blank canvas waiting to be painted on, and we think pairing him with Emma would be a smart move.
