‘General Hospital’ (GH) spoilers confirm the final scenes between Violet Finn (Jophielle Love) and her father, Hamilton Finn (Michael Easton), had us all reaching for our hankies.
‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Finn Said Goodbye To Violet
Jophielle held her own opposite Michael, and they knocked it out of the park. Finn said goodbye to Violet before he was to go off to rehab.
When Finn tried to explain to his little girl how he had been drinking, and he had to go away, Violet told her daddy that she could help him stop drinking alcohol; it was heartbreaking.
He told her that while he was so proud of her for calling Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot) for help, he should be the one taking care of her.
Violet replied,
“We can take care of each other.”
Finn held his daughter once more, and before he left, Violet gave him a bracelet she made to keep with him while he was away.
On the way out, Finn blew her a kiss, and as soon as he walked out the door, Violet burst into tears with her Auntie Brook Lynn Quartermaine (Amanda Setton) consoling her.
Whoever didn’t shed a tear during this emotional exchange is made of stone. Jophielle showed that she was more than capable of handling grown-up material, and she could deliver it with maturity and complexity far beyond her ten years.
In addition to the father-daughter bond being evident between Finn and Violet, the love between Jophielle and Michael was also present.
‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Jophielle Should Have Won An Emmy For Her Song, “Shine”
The scenes between Amanda Setton and Jophielle were understated and sweet. Once again, Jophielle handled herself like a pro.
Brook Lynn assured her that there were many activities she could do during her stay at the Quartermaine mansion; she could swim, finish learning to ride a bike and ride horses at the stables.
She told Violet that the Qs help each other and look out for one another.
“Like you and Uncle Chase are helping Daddy?”
Violet asked.
“Just like that,”
Brook Lynn responded. Violet told her she was glad they were family as Brook Lynn, and Violet embraced.
For her work in these scenes, Jophielle deserves an Emmy. She’s quite a talented young lady. Love was nominated for Best Original Song at the Daytime Emmys this year for her song “Shine.” She wrote it herself but admitted that she had a little help with the music part.
Love first performed the song on the December 8th episode of GH. It’s fitting that the episode was Christmas-related because we had all the feelings when she sang.
The song “We’re Home” from the show “Reconnecting Roots” won. We may be biased, but we feel that Jophielle should have won.
Love has worked with Easton since she was five years old. Now, she is ten years old, and because of her close relationship with the actor, she didn’t have to pretend to be sad.
Her TV Dad, whom she’s worked with for half of her life, has left the show. For Jophielle, it was like watching a real family member go. Anyone could see that their real-life connection is genuine. Good job, Jophielle!
