‘General Hospital’ spoilers reveal that last week, Brook Lynn Quartermaine (Amanda Setton) warned Lulu Spencer (Alexa Havins Breuning) not to get involved with her BFF, Maxie Jones’ (Kirsten Storms) husband.
‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Brook Lynn Summoned Her Mother and Grandmother’s Bluntness and Gave it to Lulu Straight
For all the petty fights that Brook Lynn and Lulu have had, this one was warranted. Brook Lynn took note of the chemistry between Lulu and Nathan West (Ryan Paevy).
The two of them had a moment that Brook Lynn witnessed, and when Nathan made his exit, Brook Lynn confronted Lulu, asking her point-blank what was going on between them.
It’s obvious to anyone with eyes that Nathan and Lulu are attracted to each other, but “girl code” indicates you do not mess with your BFF’s hubby, especially when they are the love of each other’s lives.
Lulu tried to explain that she and Nathan had caught feelings, and the two of them were moving slowly. Then, Brook Lynn went all Bensonhurst and gave it to Lulu straight up.
If she became romantically involved with Nathan, she would lose Maxie for good. Maxie is already contending with the shock of Nathan being alive.
Finding out that Lulu and Nathan had feelings for each other could cut Maxie to her very core. Brook Lynn wasn’t combative with Lulu or even nasty.
She relied on that Brooklyn sensibility and brutal honesty she inherited from her mom, Lois Cerullo (Rena Sofer).
Not to mention, the candidness she got from her grandmother, Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot), to give Lulu the reality check she needed.
Not only might it hurt Maxie, but it would likely hurt Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) as well. Lulu has a child with Dante, and Maxie has a child with Nathan.
‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Brook Lynn Reminded Lulu of the Depth of Her Friendship With Maxie
So, it would be all sorts of complicated. We’re unsure at this point what Lulu should do, but we know this won’t be the end of it. Lulu and Nathan could start seeing each other behind Maxie’s back.
All we know is that Brook Lynn was a true friend to Maxie and stayed true to her no-nonsense roots. Brook Lynn proved she’s earned Maxie’s loyalty.
It seemed only right that Brook Lynn should be the one to tell Lulu to pump the brakes. Whether or not Lulu takes her advice remains to be seen.
Brook Lynn had a point, though. If she did respond to whatever she’s feeling toward Nathan, the man that Maxie was so hopelessly in love with before he supposedly “died,” it wouldn’t be fair to Maxie.
Yes, Maxie is now committed to Damian Spinelli (Bradford Anderson), and they have their own blended family, but Nathan was her whole world. She was gutted when she lost him.
Brook Lynn reminded Lulu of the depth of her friendship with Maxie, making it clear to her that she was playing with fire.
She wasn’t saying this to start a fight with Lulu. She was saying this to preserve Lulu and Maxie’s bond. That’s what a real friend does.
Brook Lynn put it to Lulu in the most clear-cut and characteristically blunt way possible: In the end, Lulu exploring this crush she has on Nathan would not be worth losing Maxie’s friendship over.
