General Hospital spoilers suggest that Jenz Sidwell’s (Carlo Rota) plans for Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) are so convoluted that we can’t figure out the villain’s logic.
Sidwell bribed Judge Eva Heran (Tessa Auberjonois) to grant Michael Corinthos (Rory Gibson) full custody of Wiley Corinthos (Viron Weaver) and Amelia Corinthos (Serenity and Sequoia Mork Macko).
‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Sidwell Has No Proof To Frame Sonny
We were confused about what Sidwell had to gain by doing this. We figured he was setting Sonny up to make it look like he paid the judge to rule in Michael’s favor.
However, the judge obviously knows that Sidwell paid her. The PCPD would need proof that money changed hands. Even if Sidwell kills the judge and sets Sonny up for the crime, it’s a long shot.
Unless Sidwell somehow has a way to access Sonny’s business accounts, there is no way to prove Sonny had anything to do with the bribe.
Sidwell recently divulged his odd scheme to Marco Rios (Adrian Anochondo). He confirmed his plan to frame Sonny for his generous compensation.
He aims to ruin Sonny’s relationship with his son, a plot that is significantly weak for an international criminal. Sonny kidnapped Marco, so now Sidwell is even more determined to defeat the mob boss.
However, going about it this way may not accomplish much. Even if the bribery was exposed, Michael could play the ace card that Willow Tait (Katelyn MacMullen) kidnapped baby Daisy (Levi Clark Coughlin).
He would surely win custody if the truth ever came to light. Not to mention, Michael wouldn’t buy into the idea that Sonny would risk him losing his children if the judge snitched.
‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: The Selina We Know Wouldn’t Have Left Town That Easily
Sidwell’s master plan to make Sonny pay seems a bit ridiculous. Granted, Sidwell could have killed Kristina Corinthos Davis (Kate Mansi), but Marco saved her.
Plus, no one was supposed to be at Charlie’s when he had Selina Wu’s (Lydia Look) men firebomb it. Another odd scheme that didn’t make sense.
Selina and Sonny have years’ worth of history together. They weren’t exactly BFFs, but they respected each other. Sonny also knows Selina isn’t that sloppy.
Besides, why would a formidable woman like Selina Wu agree to leave behind the business she’s spent years building because Sidwell threatened her?
Selina could have easily gone to Sonny and told him that Sidwell set her up. It would have been so bad**s if they had teamed up against Sidwell.
We lost the highly entertaining character of Selina Wu due to the stupidity of Sidwell’s actions. Selina and Sonny vs. Sidwell would have been a lot more fun to watch.
So far, the entire story involving Sidwell has more holes than Swiss cheese. In every interaction Sidwell and Sonny have, Sonny always seems to have the upper hand.
Carlo Rota has some charisma. Lucy Coe (Lynn Herring) also needs a love interest. However, Jenz Sidwell doesn’t strike us as someone who can beat Sonny.
Many formidable villains have tried to take down the mobster with the heart of gold, and all of them have failed. Unfortunately for Sidwell, it looks like he won’t even come close to destroying Sonny or his empire.
