‘General Hospital’ (GH) Spoilers finds that Dev Cerci (Ashton Arbab) showed up in Port Charles on June 18th, he was caught by Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) after breaking into Lulu Falconeri’s (Emme Rylan) house when she went there to retrieve a baseball glove. However that wasn’t the first time we saw Dev. Dev was found by Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Bernard) in Turkey, when he went on a mission to retrieve his son, Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) from a WSB mission that had gone very, very wrong. Even though Dev originally just wanted to pick Sonny’s pocket, he was soon employed by the mob boss to help him find Dante and even created a diversion so that the mobster could do so.

Sonny returned the favor when he saved his life when Dev got cornered by Raj’s guards. They all escaped unharmed and everyone lived happily ever after. Okay, that last bit is a lie. What we don’t know is just how Dev scammed his way out of Turkey and onto a plane to the US. We don’t know how he found Sonny Corinthos (although maybe he stole a business card or something while he was picking his pocket, who knows?), and we don’t know what his intentions are, hanging around Port Charles’ infamous Mob Boss.
‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Who is Dev On General Hospital and How Did Ge Get Out of Turkey?
Dev is a street smart boy who seems to be the same age as Josslyn Jacks, Sonny’s stepdaughter by wife, Carly Corinthos. One can only assume he was born in Turkey, though that could change. (Just because one lives in a place doesn’t necessarily mean one was born there.) We know nothing about Dev’s parentage, nothing at all. We don’t know if he has a Mom, a Dad, or if he’s an orphan.
One can only assume he’s an orphan due to how he’s used to getting by on his own. At the very least, he came out of a precarious situation in Turkey and was looking for a better life in the U.S. Though, is finding a mob boss to hook up with really considered a better life? I suppose when your own life is on the line, it’s better than winding up dead.
‘GH’ Spoilers: Dev’s Ties To Turkey
That begs the question of what on earth Dev did for him to be so terrified of remaining in his home country that he would hop a plane and start over brand new in a place where he only knew one person by name. One can only guess that he had no real ties to Turkey, or if he did then they were either threatened by the people threatening him and he got lost or they were long gone before any of this ever went down. But what did he do?
Maybe he picked the wrong pocket, that’s very likely. Or maybe it was his fault that someone in the underworld lost their life, another very likely situation. It could be all due to the incident involving Dante, which would make sense enough. But those theories are kind of easy to come by, it seems odd that he would pick one specific person and one specific city, seeing as he’s probably robbed dozens (if not hundreds) in Turkey over the years, and one can only assume that at least a small percentage were from the U.S. Here are a few theories that I considered idly.
‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Dev is a sleeper
What if Dev is a sleeper? What if he’s a plant, by whomever the WSB put Dante up against to infiltrate the Corinthos crime ring, like Sonny infiltrated theirs? Sure, Dev is young, but young people can often be convinced to do dangerous, stupid things without all that much persuasion. Dev still has quite a penchant for getting into trouble, as seen the other day when Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) caught him trying to filch from Laura Webber’s (Genie Francis) purse.
Dev claimed it was already on the floor, but Jason saw him knock it onto the floor and start pawing through it. Dev claimed that it was just force of habit that told him to do that, but one wonders if it was something more. After all, Laura is the mayor, she’s in a position of power. That’s an awfully specific target there, Dev. He also hasn’t been seen trying to filch from any of the other not-so-powerful Port Charles citizens so one has to wonder if he’s been sent to gather information about certain citizens.
Or maybe he’s not actually trying to infiltrate the Corinthos crime ring so much as just be an informant against the WSB. That would make a little more sense, considering Dante was a WSB agent and got caught by Raj and his gang of criminals. Even so, he could be pulling double duty, getting both info on Sonny Corinthos and the WSB. However, since Dev is only 15 years old (Or so he says) I think the thought of him pulling double-duty like that is probably a little far-fetched. But this is Port Charles, anything can happen.
‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Dev is… family?
Stranger things have happened. Dev could be related to either Sonny, or Dante, but my guess would be Sonny. After all, Sonny is a mob boss and they aren’t exactly known for living like monks. Dev could be the result of an off-screen tryst that happened a long time ago and maybe his Mother (or whomever) told him that his Father was Sonny Corinthos and when he found him he jumped at the chance to be reunited with him. Same could be said if Dante was the Father, considering that Dev was found in Dante’s home to begin with, not Sonny’s. It would certainly add a weirdness to Dante and Lulu’s relationship if this kid did turn out to be Dante’s. However… there’s another theory I have that is an odd mix of the two.

But the family theory is kind of a cop-out. What if Dev is the son of Raj and he’s been in on the whole joke this entire time? What if his meeting with Sonny was arranged, what if the whole thing is much bigger than any of us imagined? What if Dev is programmed to stay a nice, sweet teenager until he’s given the signal and then he gets to go nuts and try to wipe out everyone?
