ABC ‘General Hospital’ (GH) spoilers reveal Tamara Braun’s emmy win and I want to be supportive but I have to be honest, I’m a little salty. Granted, Tamara did the best she could with a story that was not well thought out to begin with. I would have been all for her character taking the turn that it did had they tried to bring back Drew Caine legitimately, Billy Flynn’s version of Drew Cain. However, they didn’t do that, they decided to make Roger Howarth play double duty and have him be Drew Caine in Franco Baldwin’s body, which caused all kinds of emotional strife on the part of Dr. Kim Nero who was losing it anyway without her anchor, her son Oscar Nero (Garren Stitt).
I just couldn’t buy that Kim would willingly betray her best friend, Elizabeth Webber (Rebecca Herbst) over and over and over again with Frankendrew. Sorry, but the motivation for the character was a little too flimsy. Before this she had never really displayed man-stealing tendencies and now they expected us to buy that she would just fall head over heels for “Drew” while he was wearing her best friend’s husband’s face? If this were a real life situation (which soaps are actually supposed to mimic) then it would seem like her best friend would be weirded out by the idea of her lover in another man’s body, especially in the body of her husband’s best friend but Kim seemed to get over that real quick.

What I found most unbelievable about it was how hard she fought for it. She was willing to grab onto any possibility at all of Drew still being alive – I get that level of desperation but honestly the story was not done that well. Tamara Braun can be a good actress, as illustrated by her performance of when Oscar passed (thankfully that seemed to be the performance they were going by) but to have this desperate, pathetic last gasp as her final storyline really felt like a slap in the face to the actress.
So I guess it seems that Tamara Braun’s win was about taking one for the team. They let her exit storyline be one where even if the character did come back to Port Charles, she would be hated by the general population and I don’t feel it was fair.
