‘General Hospital’ spoilers pose the question: Should Brook Lynn Quartermaine (Amanda Setton) come forward with the truth about the accident that almost killed Jordan Ashford (Tanisha Harper)?
‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Brook Lynn Just Got Everything She Ever Wanted
I am furious that all signs point to the writers making Brook Lynn responsible for the car crash. Brook Lynn is the character who stands to lose the most.
So, from a writer’s perspective, making Brook Lynn the culprit makes sense from a storyline standpoint. However, as far as her character, Brook Lynn may be ruined if she doesn’t confess. Soon.
My heart is literally breaking for Brook Lynn. She just got everything she ever wanted. If Brook Lynn confesses that she caused the accident, she could easily lose baby Phoebe. This situation is a major moral dilemma for her.
Brook Lynn has become such a wonderful person in the past couple of years. Just as the truth is always revealed on soaps, soaps also tend to be notoriously unsupportive of character growth.
They often have characters go backward and repeat their mistakes ad nauseam, which is why I was angry that the writers chose Brook Lynn as the fall guy for Jordan’s accident. Did she even have more than a glass or two of wine?
If Brook Lynn keeps this a secret, and we all know secrets always come out on soaps, she could lose much more than the child she’s promised to foster.
If Brook Lynn decides to bury the truth, she could lose her husband, Harrison Chase (Josh Swickard), who happens to be a cop.
We all know Chase will run right back to Willow Cain (Katelyn MacMullen), and I really don’t want to see that happen.
‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Brook Lynn’s Family Would Help Her If She Confessed
More importantly, Brook Lynn would lose her son, Gio Palmeri (Giovanni Mazza), respect. It took forever for Brook Lynn to make progress with her son.
He may think what she did was despicable and write her off for good. The outcome of her confession would undoubtedly sacrifice her opportunity to help Phoebe.
However, Brook Lynn’s loved ones would rally around her. Yes, Brook Lynn didn’t stop after she swerved off the road, but if she comes clean, those closest to her would forgive her actions.
Brook Lynn is thinking of Phoebe right now, as well as the ramifications. If she confesses to causing the crash, it could lead to serious legal ramifications.
Since the accident also caused life-threatening injuries, it could lead to felony DUI or aggravated assault with a vehicle, even if there is no proof and only the word of the driver at fault.
She could face harsh legal penalties. Hell, she may even spend some time in jail, but she would have the support of the people who matter most in her life.
It would be way too “retro Brook Lynn” for her to bury this. While Brook Lynn didn’t stop, it also looked like her memory of that night was hazy at best.
Brook Lynn didn’t seem like someone who had actively recalled her role in this accident. She seemed like someone who was putting the pieces together about what went down that night.
At the very least, Brook Lynn should confide in either Chase or Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot), who would willingly help her through this. I don’t want to see Brook Lynn’s life permanently ruined by one unfortunate, careless mistake.
