‘General Hospital’ (GH) spoilers reveal that Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco) will soon take her last breath. When she’s gone, we lose her and have to part ways with all the possibilities we wanted for Sam and any potential storylines that die with her.
‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Fans Won’t Get To See Dante And Sam’s Wedding
The firing of Kelly Monaco has been difficult for many viewers. Also, admittedly, this viewer has been watching Kelly since the moment she came on the show in October 2003.
Daytime drama is one of the few genres in which the fans can get the sense that they know the characters as they become a daily part of our lives. We root for them to overcome adversity; we cheer them on over their triumphs and feel for them over their losses.
Sometimes, when a beloved character dies, it can feel like losing a family member. Sam will soon go to soap opera heaven, and while initially, the story’s tragedy will be how the characters react to her death, the real loss is in the stories we won’t get to see play out.
Sam’s long-time love, Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna), just proposed to her, and she said yes. While many viewers wanted to see Dante with Lulu Spencer (Alexa Havens) and Sam with Jason Morgan (Steve Burton), plenty of fans still enjoyed Sam and Dante’s relationship and their blended family.
Many fans felt that big group hug Sam, Dante, and the kids had before the surgery. Now that Sam’s left with likely only a day or two, we won’t get to see her big splashy wedding with Dante and them possibly growing their family with any new babies that may have been born as a result of their union.
‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Sam Won’t Get To See Her Kids Grow Up
Fans who wanted to see Sam with Jason longed for the days Sam would have exciting adventures with Jason, as the Dragon and the Phoenix were joined as one at the Noodle Buddha.
Jason and Sam were once endgame, and now we’re robbed of the chance of them ever recapturing that magic. The beautiful love story of JaSam is truly over.
Sam should have been around to watch her kids, Danny Morgan (Asher Antonyzyn) and Scout Quartermaine (Cosette Abinate), grow up. Her children will be devastated by their mom’s demise.
Sam’s kids need their mom’s guidance and presence, as they are still young and impressionable. Danny needs Sam to help him navigate the terrible teens. While Scout is still a little girl who needs a mother’s loving touch. The kids will miss out on having Sam around for the most crucial years of their lives.
The most obvious potential plot that dies with Sam is a love triangle between Sam, Dante, and Lulu. It would have been fun to watch the soapy scenario play out. Dante must choose whom he wants to spend his life with, and fans on both sides duke it out.
There’s “Sante” and “Lante,” and it’s anybody’s guess which would have prevailed. Those of us who have been a fan of Sam for the past twenty-one years will feel the sadness and the weight of her absence.
