‘General Hospital’ (GH) spoilers finds that Hayden Barnes (Rebecca Budig) is gone from Port Charles, but that doesn’t mean we don’t miss her! Apparently, we’re not the only ones! Her co-star, Michael Easton (Dr. Hamilton Finn) left some touching goodbye messages on his own facebook page for all us fans to see, writing, “I hate goodbyes.I know you do, too. Maybe we’re lucky to even have something that makes saying goodbye so hard. In that sense, I guess I shouldn’t be sad because it’s over but happy because it even happened. But that’s really hard to do when you’re missing your friend. Of course, this isn’t just a ‘goodbye’ but a ‘thank you.’ Thank you for being so damn good at what you do. For lighting up a stage. Finding truth in the words. For making me better at what I do.”

I’m verklempt! Talk amongst yourselves! Or just read the rest of what he says here, “Then again, maybe there are no ‘goodbyes’ for us, I imagine wherever you are, wherever you go, a part of you will remain with me. And maybe this is not forever. Maybe it’s not the end. So I’ll think about the beautiful days… Until we meet again.” I really don’t know how on earth all these ninjas cutting onions managed to get in here, but that was a beautiful, heartfelt, goodbye post from the man himself.

But will Hayden be back? Her exit was left open-ended, thank God. She just had to disappear for awhile thanks to Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart), or arguably iw as just because Nikolas Cassadine (Marcus Coloma) tricked her into it. I imagine she’s going to be madder than an old wet hen (excuse my deep south euphemism here) when she finds out that Nik tricked her into disappearing without her baby girl. And speaking of her baby girl, Jophielle Love, who plays little Violett Finn, commented on her instagram page, “I know you’ll be back! It doesn’t make sense without you. I’ll be waiting for our big hug and kisses!” doesn’t that just melt your heart?
Hopefully, there will be a plan for Hayden to come back and at least see little Violet in the future. I don’t think it would be fair for the writers to completely kill her off, even if it is off-screen and no one sees it. My theory is that in the next couple of years Hayden will be back to collect her baby girl. After all, Nikolas said that it could take her only a few weeks to get settled, and there’s only a few weeks left in 2019. I’ll make a prediction that perhaps summer of next year, we’ll see an old familiar face pop up in Port Charles. Stay tuned!!!
