‘General Hospital’ spoilers reveal that Jason Thompson, who played Patrick Drake on GH from 2005 to 2016, and now plays Billy Abbott on The Young and the Restless, recently dished to Swoon that he’s
“jealous he can’t play Patrick with a grown-up Emma Scorpio Drake (Braedyn Bruner).”
‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Patrick’s Daughter, Emma, Returned to GH Last Year
Emma Drake was originally portrayed by Brooklyn Rae Silzer, who left the role of Patrick and Robin Scorpio Drake’s (Kimberly McCollough) daughter in 2016. Emma moved with her parents from Port Charles to Berkley, California.
Thompson has been playing the plum role of Billy Abbott on Y&R for ten years now. Yet, he’s been thinking a lot about Patrick lately.
Patrick’s daughter returned to the show as Bruner, and Thompson expressed that it would be fun to play out their father-daughter duo. Now, Emma is a mature, grown young woman.
He said,
“It makes me a little bit jealous that I can’t be there with her a little bit, and it makes me want to know her.”
Thompson continued,
“I think back on who that little girl has become, and I want to be part of it. I want to learn what she loves. I want to know what our relationship is like. I want to know if she likes her dad, if he messed up, or what’s going on.”
The actor added,
“It makes me think about all the possibilities of what could happen with her as an adult. I hear she’s doing great, too.”
Of course, GH fans know Emma is a passionate animal advocate who isn’t afraid to break the rules to stand up for what she believes in. The courage of her conviction makes her a very valuable and interesting character on the canvas.
Emma also introduced the adorable beagle, Outback, whom she found is a stray dog and now is now livin’ large at the Quartermaine mansion. Like her dad, she’s also in a very popular pairing with Gio Palmeri (Giovanni Mazza).
‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Thompson Is “Stoked” the Drake Family Is “Still Happening”
That said, Thompson wants to make it clear that he has no intention of leaving Y&R anytime soon. He’s happy to play the black sheep of the Abbott family for as long as they allow him to.
Yet Thompson still checks in on the inner workings of the Drake family as much as possible. He shared,
“I’m just stoked that the Drakes are still happening. I mean, you have the cornerstone with Finola (Hughes, Anna Devane) there; anything’s possible with her. So, I know that Emma is in good hands even though Robin and Patrick aren’t around much now.”
To this day, Thompson still keeps in touch with his former on-screen daughter, Brooklyn Rae Silzer, who has left the acting world to pursue a career as a nurse.
Robin and Patrick also have another child, a son, named Noah Patrick Drake. Meanwhile, the couple is still living happily off-screen in California.
Of course, Patrick’s son, Noah, was named after Patrick’s father, Noah Drake Scorpio (Rick Springfield). Noah Drake’s time on GH is in the 80s, the stuff of legend.
It would be fun to have a little reunion of the Drake family, including Patrick, someday. To this day, fans of Robin and Patrick still talk about one of the best supercouples on GH in recent years, affectionately known as “Scrubs.”
