‘General Hospital’ (GH) spoilers indicates that Cody Bell (Josh Kelly) is going to try something outrageous to try to help Sasha Corbin (Sofia Mattsson). Is it going to actually work, or will it be the worst decision he has ever made?
‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Sasha’s Situation
Sasha has been sent to the Ferncliff Hospital for the Criminally Insane. She was admitted when she stabbed Cody at the Metro Court pool. Sasha was obviously not in her right mind and was hallucinating. She thought he was Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober).
Cody knows that there is more going on that meets the eye. While Sasha has had mental health and substance abuse issues before, she was improving. She had gotten help and was making great strides.
She was doing so well that she was seeking to dissolve the guardianship she was under. Gladys Corbin (Bonnie Burroughs), her mother-in-law, is her guardian. While she is supposed to look out for her well-being, she is also in charge of her finances.
Gladys has a major gambling addiction. She has been losing money at Selina Wu’s (Lydia Look) poker tables. She owes a lot of money, and she has been using Sasha’s funds to pay her bills. If she loses the ability to control Sasha’s money, she won’t be able to pay her debts and things will get ugly for her.
‘General Hospital Spoilers: Dangerous Plan
Cody believes that Sasha is being drugged, and Gladys is behind it. He is right. Dr. Damon Montague (Darin Toonder) was the doctor who was to assess whether or not Sasha was ready to have the guardianship dissolved. It turns out that Dr. Montague is also Glady’s gambling partner. He agrees to help her keep Sasha “dependent”.
Dr. Montague prescribed benzodiazepines to Sasha and they were interfering with her ability to function. She stole some merchandise while under their influence and she stabbed Cody. Now that she is in Ferncliff, Montague keeps injecting her with drugs to keep her unstable and crazy.
Cody wants to rescue her but can’t prove anything. He can’t get into Ferncliff to visit her, although he has tried. Gladys has blocked him. His idea is to get himself committed to the hospital so that he can see her and help her. He tells Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco) about the plan and asks for her help.
At first, she refuses, because once Cody is committed, he may never be able to get out again. It’s a big risk to take. When he points out that she would want to be helped if she were in Sasha’s position or she would want help for her sisters if they were in trouble, she finally agrees.
