‘General Hospital’ (GH) spoilers expected Steve Burton to return and reprise his role of Jason Morgan, but we didn’t expect it to happen so fast after he finished up with ‘Days of Our Lives’.

So when he came out at the end of ‘General Hospital: 60 Years of Stars and Storytelling’, it was the perfect spot.

The only way to maybe improve on it is if he walked in prior to that when the cast were coming and going and said something along the lines of welcomed returns but we can’t complain.

We’re glad he’s back and we can’t wait to see what kind of fun Jason’s going to have.

Steve talked about it in an emotional video on his and Bradford Anderson (Damian Spinelli)’s show, The Daily Drama Podcast.

‘General Hospital’ Spoilers – Returning home

‘General Hospital’ Spoilers are so used to seeing him play seemingly emotionless characters that it’s weird seeing so much coming out of him, but it was a good moment and it’s obvious ‘GH’ is where his home and heart are.

Among the topics was how to keep his return secret despite so many people there.

“We tried to keep it super low profile in the building. Here’s the thing. Once you start telling makeup, hair, and wardrobe, it’s hard. It’s supposed to be hush-hush but I’m going back in the building. You can’t just drop me in the dressing room and then take me up to stage and shoot something without people noticing.”

‘General Hospital’ Spoilers – Navigating an emotional time

Of course, they had to talk about the elephant in the room and the reason he left, meaning Disney’s vaccine mandates during Covid.

“Disney had their mandate. They wanted people to get vaccinated. I chose not to, so we parted ways. As you can see on my video on Instagram from a couple of years ago, I didn’t have any hard feelings. I didn’t have any ill will because GH was my family. I was there for so long. I grew up there. This show, General Hospital, has enabled me to live such an amazing life.

“I know it’s hard for people to believe because a lot of emotions get in there, and I understand. People get emotional. It was an emotional time in the country, in the world, but I like to focus on love, I like to focus on gratitude. I truly believe when one door closes, another door opens.”

It’s great to see him back now that Disney lifted the mandate and we’re looking forward to seeing what Jason’s been up to and if he’ll once again be the steady influence Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) needs.

What do you think about his return? Let us know in the comments below and check back with ‘General Hospital’ Spoilers for the latest updates, spoilers, and speculation around.
