According to Thought Catalog, newcomers to the daytime television scene make up to $700 per episode. Although, for those actors that have been in the business for about 5 to 10 years, that increased to $1,500 to $3,000 per episode. Many veteran stars make anywhere from $2,000 to $5,000 an episode. It’s been noted that there are very few daytime television stars that have enough power to command $5,000 or more per episode.

Meanwhile, an actor with five or less lines makes about $450 while a background actor pockets $200 for a day of work. The average pay for a soap opera actor back in 2017 was reported to be just $57,000. Given the cost of living in Los Angeles, that isn’t very much although the figure is passed on a typical work week of just two days per week.
In addition, it’s been reported that stars like Maurice Benard have a net worth of $2 million or more. Steve Burton, meanwhile, is worth $3 million while Laura Wright’s worth is at about the same ballpark. The General Hospital star who apparently is worth the most amount of money is Kelly Monaco at $4 million.
The Queen of Daytime Television, Susan Lucci, who is best known for her role as Erika Kane on All My Children is worth an estimated $60 million.
So far producers for General Hospital have made no comments about their stars or their salaries for that matter. Either way, fans love tuning in to their favorite soaps on a daily basis, all year round!
