‘General Hospital’ spoilers reveal that many fans were disgusted and outraged by Danny Morgan (Asher Antonyzn) and Charlotte Cassadine’s (Bluesy Burke) snowstorm hook-up.
‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Danny and Charlotte Are Related Through the Cassadine Family
According to GH history, Danny and Charlotte are related through the Cassadine family. Charlotte is the granddaughter of Victor Cassadine (Charles Shaughnessy).
Meanwhile, Danny is the son of Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco) and the grandson of Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn). Alexis is the daughter of Mikkos Cassadine (John Colicos).
Their family connection makes them second cousins. In the state of New York, it is actually legal to marry your second cousin. In fact, marriage between first cousins is also legal in New York, which is pretty shocking.
The soap peeked viewer interest when spoilers indicated that a couple would share their first kiss during the blizzard that hit Port Charles last week.
The show choose to surprise us with two pairs of forbidden kisses: Lulu Spencer (Alexa Havins Breuning) and Nathan West (Ryan Paevy) and Charlotte and Danny.
The potential pairing of two cousins grossed out a lot of fans. Many took to social media to share their opinion.
One fan wrote,
“They are blood relatives. This is incest. Alexis and Valentin are both Cassadines, these are their offspring. Danny and Charlotte are kissing cousins. I liked the kiss that wasn’t between cousins better.”
Another member of the audience chimed in,
“I know it’s a soap, and anything goes, but what are these writers thinking these days?”
Someone else said,
“I knew they were going to go there with Danny and Charlotte, they’re supposed to be cousins! How gross!”
One person put it simply,
“Ugh, and eww. What kind of backwoods writers does GH employ?”
However, Danny and Charlotte kissing was not on anyone’s bingo card.
‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: This Isn’t GH’s First Rodeo with Kissing Cousins!
Hey, at least GH surprised us. As fans recall, this is far from the first time GH has done this. Fans recall that Sasha Corbin (Sofia Mattsson) and Cody Bell (Josh Kelly) were romantically involved.
However, before they actually had a chance to sleep together, Holly Sutton (Emma Samms) told Sasha that he was her second cousin.
Ned Quartermaine (Wally Kurth) once married his cousin, Chloe Morgan (Tava Smiley), to save her company under an inheritance-related stipulation in her uncle’s will.
Back in the 1980s, Jimmy Lee Holt (Steve Bond) married his cousin, Celia Quartermaine (Sherilyn Wolter). Jimmy Lee Holt was Edward’s son.
Celia’s grandfather, Herbert, was Edward Quartermaine’s (John Ingle) first cousin. Edward’s father, George, and Herbert’s father, William, were brothers.
So, yeah. GH has “been here” before with the kissing cousins. Soaps are notorious for their unorthodox, forbidden romances involving family members.
Some fans were actually happy to see Danny have his first kiss with Charlotte. However, we’re unsure of how their family will react to this.
We also don’t really know what the purpose of Charlotte and Danny kissing each other in the first place was. Is this leading up to a relationship?
Fans first noticed the two teenagers exchange longing glances and got the feeling a while ago that the show would “go there” with Jason Morgan’s (Steve Burton) son and Lulu’s daughter.
