‘General Hospital’ (GH) spoilers suggest that Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) may walk away from the mob to be a stable parent after Sam McCall’s (Kelly Monaco) death.
‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Sam Was Danny And Scout’s Constant
Last week, Jason had the difficult task of breaking the news to Danny Morgan (Asher Antonyzyn) and Scout Quartermaine (Cosette Abinante) that their mom had unexpectedly passed away.
Sam donated a portion of her liver to Lulu Spencer (Alexa Havens) to save Lulu’s life. She was a hero and made it through surgery with flying colors and no complications.
That was until she suddenly had a heart attack and died. Jason was at the hospital at the time and had to watch in horror as the doctors frantically scrambled into Sam’s room to try to revive her.
Sadly, the doctors couldn’t save her, and Sam passed away. Sam was Danny and Scout’s primary caretaker. She was there to tuck Scout in at night and make sure Danny stayed out of trouble.
Now, she’s gone, and Danny and Scout only have one parent to depend on. Sam had long wanted to keep Danny from Jason’s life of danger.
She disapproved of Danny getting too deeply involved with Jason due to his mob ties and attraction to danger. Sam was also understandably upset with Jason because he had stayed away from Danny for so long to protect Carly Spencer (Laura Wright).
Danny lived without his father for years and never heard from him. Now, he must choose: Where will he go from here? Jason wants to protect his son, but will he be able to refuse Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard)? He seems open to working for him again, which could prove unsafe for Danny.
‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Jason Is A Good Dad When He’s Around
The other issue is that Jason’s twin brother, Drew Quartermaine (Cameron Mathison), won’t win a Father of the Year award anytime soon.
The smug and overconfident wannabe Senator is always off campaigning for the upcoming election, participating in ELQ business, or hooking up with Michael Corinthos’s (Chad Duell) wife, Willow Corinthos (Katelyn MacMullen). The actor who plays Drew is also involved in several other projects.
Perhaps Jason might need to take care of Scout, too. Or maybe Danny and Scout can split their time between Jason and Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna).
Dante deserves a close relationship with the children, considering he’s the other stable caretaker who stepped in to help raise Danny and Scout.
Jason is a good dad when he’s around. He has a loving heart but doesn’t always have his priorities straight. He left his boys for over three years and let his kids believe he was dead. During that time, Sam was the one constant in her children’s lives for a long time.
Danny and Scout are inconsolable over their mom’s death, and they need love, support, and consistency now that Sam isn’t there to see them grow up.
Jason should leave his mob life behind and find a career that suits his need for excitement, like opening a bike shop or working with Damian Spinelli (Bradford Anderson) at Sam’s PI business. Jason could do anything, as long as it doesn’t endanger his children.
