‘General Hospital’ (GH) spoilers reveal that in the May 19th episode of GH, the soap got, well, very soapy as it featured an epic catfight between two longtime rivals, Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) and Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros).
‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: There Is No Love Lost Between Carly And Nina
The truce between these two fabulous ladies ended with Nina delivering a swift smack to Carly’s face, and it escalated into a highly entertaining physical altercation. We couldn’t have been more thrilled.
Carly and Nina have been involved in a massive feud for years. Nixon Falls, anyone? Nina kept Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) away from her, while Carly kept her two daughters from her. There is no love lost between them.
While their recent attempt at a truce was for the purpose of breaking up Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) and Willow Tait Corinthos (Katelyn MacMullen), Carly turned the tables on Nina and told her the truth.
The Metro Court owner delivered some powerful words to Nina. She said that Willow and Nina are terrible mothers, and Willow doesn’t deserve to have custody of her kids. Carly made it clear that her loyalty is to her son, Michael Corinthos (last played by Chad Duell), which is as it should be.
She will do anything to protect her grandchildren, and she knows Willow will never see Drew for the slime ball he really is. Carly was quick to point out to Nina that Willow walked in on Drew in bed with a sex worker and is still standing by him. It’s infuriating to watch this ridiculous girl constantly justifying her toxic relationship with him.
‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Willow Has A Very Cult-Focused Mindset
Willow needs intense therapy because she hasn’t dealt with her past with Dawn of Day. She definitely has a very cult-focused mindset. She even changes herself to suit and appease whoever she’s with at the time, and she lets Drew control her.
That’s a mental health issue. Willow needs to get her act together, or the kids may be better off with either Carly or Nina, preferably Carly.
It would also be exciting if each side prepared for the custody hearing. While they are all sitting in the courtroom, Michael walks in. It may be a recast, Michael, but his character is badly needed on the canvas. Michael should be present in court to fight for his children. With all the evidence that Drew is a poor influence, Michael’s family is bound to win.
Both Laura Wright and Cynthia Watros deserve kudos for their powerful performances. These two actresses bring the heat and are equally matched, which makes it so much fun to watch them spar. Laura Wright especially earned a gold star.+
When she was delivering the truth to Nina, it was as commanding and compelling as the best church sermon you’ve ever heard. We got the sense Carly is truly fed up with Nina. And she refuses to be honest with Willow about her selfish actions.
Not to mention, Nina could have ended this before it started by telling Willow she had an affair with Drew.
In our book, both actresses gave powerhouse performances today. That being said, we can’t help but be 100 percent team Carly on this one.
