There has been a lot of good and bad with ‘General Hospital’ lately, and for ‘General Hospital’ (GH) spoilers, they really dropped the ball by bailing on Esme Prince (Avery Kristen Pohl)’s redemption storyline.

We’ve spent months watching her grow and become her own person in Port Charles. She carved out a life of her own, became a good employee, a good mother, and genuinely wanted the best for people.

    And now it’s all gone.

In the grand scheme, it feels like the show wanted to show how the real personalities win out in the end despite Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) being kinder and gentler in a lot of ways.

‘General Hospital’ Spoilers – Disappointing swerve

‘General Hospital’ Spoilers understand the reasoning behind Esme turning bad because we were supposed to fall in love with her redemption and now hate her for throwing it all away.

But that’s the thing, while getting her memories back was always going to be an interesting experience, the fact they wiped away all of the good she did and was, and it’s annoying at best.

It’s another fast character change that really wasn’t needed.

We think they’re trying to set up the next big baddie, but unfortunately we have the feeling she’ll end up being a copy of Peter August (Wes Ramsey)’s storyline.

And since fans weren’t happy with how that one dragged out, we’re willing to bet this one will go over just as well if the writers haven’t learned their lesson.

‘General Hospital’ Spoilers – Rinse, repeat

'General Hospital' Spoilers: Alley Mills RETURNING As Heather Webber, Makes Dramatic Comeback?

While there will be differences in the two storylines, most notably Esme has her mom, Heather Webber (Ally Mills), to relay on for guidance, we doubt it’ll stray much from the typical revenge plot.

The one good thing about this is it may not last too long as there are some spoilers that say a final confrontation will happen sometime in February, but we’re taking that with a grain of salt.

Whenever it ends, they used up Esme’s redemption attempts and she’ll either have to be locked up until the need to break the glass for another baddie is needed, she’ll get away, or they’ll kill her off.

There have been reports that the actress signed a long term contract, so maybe they have another character in mind for her?

It’s going to be interesting to see what they have planned to bring closure to this storyline, though they already had it with Esme’s redemption. If they were going to change characters they could’ve had her move away.

What do you think about evil Esme returning? Let us know in the comments below and check back with ‘General Hospital’ Spoilers for the latest updates, spoilers, and speculation around.
