‘General Hospital’ spoilers are happy to report that Dante Falconeri is making a return on the hit ABC soap. Dominic Zamprogna made an impact with his debut as Dante Falconeri on General Hospital in 2009. So much so, that his exit earlier this year stirred up a lot of reaction.

‘General Hospital’ spoilers are happy to report that Dante will have a last dance in Port Charles. The actor admitted in a podcast interview with Soap Opera Digest how much the love meant to him, and tried to break down why the character Dante was so loved by fans when asked by the interviewers.

He made his debut on the show as one of the good guys—an undercover cop going after Sonny, who turns out to be his father. The character had some great stories, according to the actor and others, for a while before he began to fall by the wayside, story-wise. This even prompted ABC Soaps in Depth to name him one of their picks for “most underutilized character”, something he jokes about in an interview with them. After his nine years on the show, he had a rare consistent love interest, and tons of drama, including an infertility storyline. He also dealt with the complexities of finding out his father is someone he’s supposed to take down.
General Hospital Comings and Goings – Dominic Zamprogna’s Farewell Podcast
In the podcast, they ended it with asking about whether or not he would ever return. He said he was open, and it seems that it’s going to happen—at least for a minute. He got fans all riled up and made numbers blogs and magazines with a simple tweet tagging a GH co-star. The next day, he followed it up with a second tweet that shows the entrance of General Hospital. Turns out, these tweets are referring to a special cameo he’s making. Haven’t found a lot as to what is making this particular episode special, but it seems there’s a reason he’s making an appearance. The move comes only about four months after he tweeted his farewells to the fans. What’s he doing back? We’ll have to wait and see…

What we do know, is what he’s been doing since then. If you’re a fan of the actor and want to see him in an entirely different role, you can catch him in the Amazon series Tin Star, and he is definitely the anti-Dante in it. The actor spoke with glee about his way out of the norm first scenes in his four-episode run in that ABC Soaps in Depth interview.
Besides that, followers of the actor on Twitter also know that he’s part of a new project currently looking for backing on Kickstarter. The short film, To the Moon and Back, is the creation of writer/director Nate Hapke and will see Dominic playing a grieving son who gets comfort from family as he prepares to says his final goodbyes. The project, which is already reaching the halfway point in funding, offers producer credits and shout outs among backer rewards. He’s also participated in a fan event in the time since he left the show.
