‘General Hospital’ (GH) spoilers reveal that Ric Lansing (Rick Hearst) is enjoying his time with Ava Jerome (Maura West), and the two of them have a lot in common.
‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Ric And Ava Are Considered The Town Pariahs
Both Ric and Ava have made decisions in the past that have cemented their place in Port Charles as villains, but they also want to be better people for their respective children.
Ava has Avery Jerome-Corinthos (Ava and Grace Scarola) to think about, and Ric is the best version of himself when he’s around his daughter, Molly Lansing-Davis (Kristen Vaganos).
Ric and Ava also have combustible chemistry. The soap has struck gold with Ric and Ava, but will Ric be able to move forward, considering he’s still in love with Elizabeth Baldwin (Rebecca Herbst)?
When Ric first came back to town, his first inclination was to seek out Elizabeth. However, she made it abundantly clear they were over a long time ago.
Ric has always carried a torch for Elizabeth, and while the feeling isn’t mutual, Liz still depends on Ric in times of trouble.
Ric stepped up as Liz’s lawyer when she was forced to take a leave of absence as head nurse of General Hospital before there was proof that she didn’t have anything to do with the Digitalis murders.
No one believed she was involved, but Ric provided her valuable counsel to Lucky Spencer’s (Johnathan Jackson) chagrin.
As Ric and Ava become closer, she may realize he still has deep emotions for Elizabeth. Ric is intent on winning Liz back, even though she and Lucky are clearly soulmates. Elizabeth has loved Lucky since they were teenagers.
‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Unlike Liz, Ric Can Be Himself Around Ava
That being said, it’s obvious Ric strongly cares for the martini-loving vixen. He is taking her custody case with Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) pro bono, which is the only way she’d succeed. The Cassadines snatched back the fortune Nikolas Cassadine (Adam Huss) left her in the divorce.
He also helped her find her new apartment, which she was reluctant to take. However, when Ric explained to her that she needed a stable home for Avery, she sucked it up. She artfully decorated her new humble abode to look as posh as possible.
He showed up just in time to prevent a major showdown between Ava and Kristina Corinthos-Davis (Kate Mansi) when Ava wanted to bring Avery to see their new home when she “just happened” to run into her daughter at the park.
Ric and Ava also make more sense than Ric and Elizabeth, and hopefully, Ric will soon realize that. Ava is a firecracker and doesn’t present the insurmountable challenge Liz does with him.
He can relax and be himself around Ava and doesn’t need to pretend he’s something he’s not. Liz always took issue with Ric’s vendetta against his brother. However, the gallery owner shares a child with Sonny. She knows firsthand the kind of rejection Ric has experienced with the mob boss. Ava also can personally relate to Ric’s vindictive streak.
Ava has been interested in Ric since they first met. Can Ric accept defeat with Elizabeth and try to find love with Ava? Only time will tell.
