‘General Hospital’ (GH) spoilers tease that August went out with a bang. Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) finally killed Agent John “Jagger” Cates (Adam Harrington). Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) is on his way to save Ava Jerome (Maura West) from a dire fate.
‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Agent Cates Wanted Ava Dead
What Cates did this past week was despicable, as he charged Kristina Corinthos-Davis (Kate Mansi) with the death of her child and hauled her down to the PCPD to coerce Sonny into confessing his crimes so he could arrest him at the Quartermaines.
Sonny said he would give himself up so that Kristina could go free. Sonny said goodbye to his kids and met Cates at the boathouse.
Little did John know he was about to get shot, despite the fact that Sonny warned him not to mess with his family. So, Cates had to go. No one will miss him.
Meanwhile, Ava was about to be offed herself as Cates blackmailed Agent Linda Boyle (Armor Owens) to do his dirty work and kill Ava.
Agent Boyle was in the process of driving Ava to the Pine Barrens. Of course, as a glorified Jerome crime family member, Ava knew exactly where she was headed!
When she asked Agent Boyle about it, she admitted that, yes, Cates saw the gallery owner as a loose end and wanted her dead.
The previews next week showed Jason ordering someone to “put down the gun,” and it was apparent he was rescuing Ava’s sorry behind from Agent Boyle’s clutches.
Considering everything Ava did to Sonny and his family, you’d think Jason would allow the martini-swilling vixen’s karma to take her to her grave, but Jason also isn’t the type to let the “bad guys” win.
‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Ava Will Tell The Truth And Clear Kristina
Sonny had already figured out that Ava was marked for death and warned her about Cates. He even offered to protect her after she was partly responsible for tampering with Sonny’s bipolar medicine.
Not to mention, Ava gave the editor-in-chief of the Invader a recording of Blaze’s (aka Allison Rogers, played by Jacquline Grace Lopez) mother’s Natalia Rameriez (Eva LaRue) insipid anti-gay rant, explicitly concerning her daughter and Kristina.
Adrian DeWitt (Dieterich Gray) was more than happy to leak the recording. The recording outed Blaze and Kristina’s romance and canceled their careers.
Jason probably realized Ava was about to be dead meat when he raced to find her. He will likely take down Agent Boyle and retrieve Ava. Now, Ava has a fighting chance at redemption.
Once she discovers Sonny murdered Cates, she’ll no doubt admit to Sonny what happened between her and Kristina at the Metro Court Hotel and clear Kristina from the bogus attempted murder charges.
Sonny and Ava will come to a new understanding about their daughter, Avery Jerome-Corinthos (Ava and Grace Scarola). Hopefully, the “new and improved” Ava is back, and we’ll see more of that.
Ava has a long road ahead if she wants to be free of her demons. As long as she tells the truth and clears Kristina, the mob boss will be open to a mutually beneficial custody arrangement.
