It seems as though there is just as much drama between the journalists of the royal rota as there is in the actually British Royal Family. “Finding Freedom” author Omid Scobie recently called out the royal rota for staying silent about a certainty cash-for-honors scandal, yet constantly knocking down Prince Harry and Meghan Markle for everything they do. A former aide to Prince Charles, Michael Fawcett, was forced to step down from his role as the head of the Prince’s Foundation amid claims of misconduct. Michael Fawcett is accused of using his position and influence to help Saudi businessman Mahfouz Marei Mubarak bin Mahfouz obtain an honorary Commander of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire, according to the Sunday Times.

Fawcett was paid to coordinate the title and help Mahfouz receive a “golden visa,” through which he hoped to achieve UK citizenship and residency, the report alleges.
In 2016, Prince Charles personally bestowed the award to Mahfouz at a private ceremony at Buckingham Palace. Yet, the ceremony was not published on the official list of royal engagements.
And now Omid Scobie is putting the royal rota in their place by pointing out that they’ve been very silent over the scandal. He tweeted over the weekend, “Always interesting to see the cheerleaders and mouthpieces (who usually don’t waste a second jumping on Twitter or some £75-a-soundbite radio show) go quiet during a scandal.”
Dan Wootton, who is part of the royal rota, clapped back with, “Mate, you used to sell dodgy stories about the royals to dodgy mags for £75 a pop!”
For the record, Prince Charles denies any wrongdoing. Buckingham Palace released a statement that said: “The Prince of Wales has no knowledge of the alleged offer of honours or British citizenship on the basis of donation to his charities and fully supports the investigation now underway by The Prince’s Foundation.”
