A royal expert claims that the British Royal Family did have several conversations about Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s skin color. In fact, British Royal Family journalist Omid Scobie says that there was one conversation in particular that left the Duke and Duchess of Sussex quite upset. Here’s what you need to know.
Omid Scobie made his claims at a Foreign Press Association event in London, where he told the crowd that the discussions that took place became a “much bigger issue” involving quite a few people.
Expert Claims Royal Family Had ‘Several Conversations’ About Archie’s Possible Skin Color
“There was one conversation that took place that affected [Harry and Meghan] massively, when it came to someone within the royal family sharing concerns over the color of Archie’s skin,” Scobie said.
“There were other people aware of this conversation within the family and within the institution [who] did also speak about it, some not so sympathetically. So you then are in a position where you start to feel, ‘Well, it’s not just this one person, it’s others as well,’ and it becomes a much bigger issue.”
During Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s epic interview with Oprah Winfrey back in March, the couple suggested that a senior member of the royal family was so racist that he or she was concerned about the color of Archie’s skin. If that weren’t enough, Meghan told the world that life at Buckingham Palace was so miserable that she contemplated suicide while Harry admitted that his father had cut him off – both emotionally and financially.
And while Queen Elizabeth is supposedly ‘investigating’ who this royal racist is, UK oddsmakers had offered their best bets. While some people believe it to be either Prince Charles or Prince William, others are also adding Kate Middleton, Camilla Parker Bowles, and even Prince Andrew’s names to the growing list of suspects.
