‘Doubling Down with the Derrico’ Spoilers reveal that, Karen, Deon, and little Diaz, all came home from the doctor and the twins, Diaz and Diore were reunited. Diaz seemed a little bit disoriented by it all, and the Derrico’s decided, even affter a two hour doctor’s appointment that the kids needed an outing, so they decided to take them out for ice cream. Though, honestly, I think the ice cream served as more of a pallette cleanser for the adults than anything.
Karen and Deon didn’t really want to focus on telling the kids about what Diaz would potentially have to go through just yet, so they opted to take them somewhere where they could all de-stress from the day they had had, which is a really nice thing for Mom and Dad to do, considering they were frazzled too and probably didn’t really feel like loading up 14 kids in the car and driving out to the ice cream parlor.

(Actually, my mistake, 11 kids went, the triplets stayed behind since they can’t actually partake in the ice cream at this moment in time.) The ice cream parlor said that it was the biggest order they had ever had for one single family. I’m guessing going to this particular ice cream parlor doesn’t happen too often for the Derrico’s. (No judgement, that’s a lot of ice cream to buy!)
However when they got home and it was just the adults and the kids were, I’m assuming, safely in bed they decided to tell Grandma GG what was going on with Diaz. As they detailed the complications of what might go wrong with him, including death, if they didn’t have this surgery done, Grandma GG was overwhelmed with emotion.
She got up, saying her chest “didn’t feel right” and just started to sob, poor Grandma GG couldn’t stand the thought of potentially losing little Diaz… every Mom, Grandma, and even non-Mom can relate to how she was feeling at that moment.
No one wants a child to die, no one wants to potentially outlive their children or grandchildren. We hope that Grandma GG can take the stress and be strong for the rest of the family, our hearts go out to the Derrico’s.
