Remember the Derricos? That fun-loving family with 14 children that lives in Las Vegas? Well, it looks like they have gotten the go-ahead for season 2! That’s right, we’ll get to see all of the children and Karen and Deon, along with Grandma Gigi, and how they survived quarantine.
The last time we saw the Derricos, the entire family had gotten infected by COVID and we were worried about them, especially the newest little Derricos because they were only a few months old and very, very immuno-compromised already.

We were also worried about Grandma GG because she was in the demographic of people that weren’t making it through this disease. Fortunately, it looks like God smiled upon them (and by extension, us) and everyone survived.
However it does look like they’re going to face some challenges this season. The oldest, Darian, is starting to navigate the pitfalls of being a teenager, and we all know what that means, boys and dating. We see one boy flirting with her in the preview, but we also see Dad Deon step in and caution her that boys only have one thing on their mind at that age.
She says “Hashtag cringe” in her confessional scene, and I think anyone who’s ever received “the talk” from their parents at that age can agree that it is pretty cringey. We sympathize, Darian!
Speaking of sex, it looks like Mama Derrico, Karen, could be expecting another bundle of joy. Is there a possibility of a 15th (or even more!) Derrico child on the way? She said she was late. Now, sometimes being late doesn’t mean anything, sometimes it can just mean that the Mom is extra-stressed (and with a house full of kids on lockdown, we can see why), but with Karen’s track-record it begs the question.
While Karen and Deon may be okay with letting God choose the size of their family, Grandma Gigi has decided that maybe there needs to be a line in the sand, she asks that very question, “Where is the line?!” in regards to another potential pregnancy. We get it, Gigi, Grandma’s tired.
There’s also the fact that one of the little ones could be facing surgery for some kind of skull deformation that could potentially cause developmental delays. At one point they even talk about taking part of his skull off, which causes Mom and Dad Derrico to break down and the rest of us to cringe.
Say it ain’t so!!! We’ll be watching with bated breath to see if these little ones, and their parents and Grandma Gigi make it through this season. Stay tuned!!!
