A memorial fund was established in memory of Dog the Bounty Hunter‘s late wife, Beth Chapman, but now her daughters are suing the fund’s founder.
Bonnie Chapman and Cecily Barmore have just filed a lawsuit against Rainy Robinson, Beth’s closest friend and co-star in “Dog’s Most Wanted,” on the grounds that they believe she has been profiting herself instead of administering a charity fund using their mother’s name or likeness.
Bonnie and Cecily claim in the lawsuit that Rainy has been soliciting donations for years — beginning immediately after Beth passed away from cancer in 2019 — and that recently, she has been making fraudulent promises to give the girls ownership of the fund while never doing so.
That presents a significant challenge for Beth’s daughters, who claim in the lawsuit that Rainy has been acting dishonestly by beginning the process to secretly dissolve the charity rather than handing over the monies as promised.
Dog The Bounty Hunter’s Late Wife Beth Chapman’s Daughters Suing Over Memorial Fund
In multiple social media posts, Rainy allegedly expressed her intention to hand over management of the fund to Bonnie and Cecily, but when their attorneys demanded an explanation of her use of the funds, Rainy allegedly changed her mind and abandoned the transfer.
The daughters want at least $50,000 in damages and are trying to prevent the use of their names and photographs for the charity.
Since their mother passed away, Rainy says she’s been attempting to get the daughters to run the fund, but alleges they disassociated themselves without giving a reason. Rainy adds that the fund has always had excellent intentions, including establishing a scholarship and a victim fund for families of murder victims.
Additionally, she says she told Bonnie and Cecily they could have the fund but they would need to get in touch with her directly, which they allegedly failed to do. Rainy claims that she will immediately shut it down. Dog says “This is a bogus claim. The memorial fund was approved by Beth’s estate, which I administrate. The lawsuit against the fund’s founder is nothing more than harassment.”
