‘Days of our Lives’ (DOOL) spoilers suggest that John Black (Drake Hogestyn) may be a hero one last time. Bo Brady (Peter Reckell) is dying as Hope Williams Brady (Kristian Alfonso) called Kayla Johnson (Mary Beth Evans) and Shawn Brady (Brandon Beemer) last week to break the news that Bo has an infection that his body couldn’t fight off and it doesn’t look like he’ll pull through.
‘Days Of Our Lives’ Spoilers: Dr. Russell Refused To Give Bo The Life-Saving Drug
Bo has been in a coma since 2023. Shawn shot his father when he thought his mother was in danger, as he mistakenly believed that Bo was about to harm Hope.
Bo had recently been brainwashed by Meghan Hathaway (Miranda Wilson). When Shawn saw that Bo had a gun, he shot Bo in the back, which landed him in a coma. Hope has kept vigil at Bo’s bedside in Greece ever since.

Kayla pleaded with the doctor in charge of the new treatment, Dr. Jeffrey Russell (Michael Dietz), to gain access to his experimental drug to treat sepsis, but the FDA has not approved the drug. Additionally, Dr. Russell told her that he couldn’t risk saving Bo at the expense of potentially saving thousands of people.
Shawn and Steve Johnson (Stephen Nichols) plan to steal the medication soon. Breaking the law goes against what Shawn stands for as a cop. However, he’s been wracked with guilt ever since he put his father into a coma. He’s determined to make it right.
Despite Shawn risking his career, his father’s life is obviously more important to him than his role at the Salem PD, and he’s willing to commit a crime.

However, there is no guarantee that Shawn and Steve will succeed with their theft. Even if they manage to procure this medical miracle, Bo may be in such poor condition that the sepsis would poison his body, causing his organs to start to shut down.
Kayla explained to everyone that Bo is likely to pass away. However, there is Hope for fans. Peter Reckell and Kristian Alfonso are set to reprise their roles as Bo and Hope.
‘Days Of Our Lives’ Spoilers: Bo And Hope’s Return Will “Dovetail” John’s Farewell
Days’ new head writers, Paula Cwikly and Jeanne Marie Ford, shared in Soap Opera Digest that their first order of business when they took over for Ron Carlivatti was the seemingly impossible task of creating an exit story for John.

The soap scribes also admitted that Bo and Hope’s return to the canvas would “dovetail” with John’s farewell. It’s not hard to imagine they would take the opportunity to make John the hero of the story and save Bo’s life.
If John were too seriously injured to be saved, he might end up saving Bo’s life with an organ donation. Prior to Drake’s tragic passing, he approved his final storyline. He gave the green light for the soap to move forward with John’s death when they were ready to say goodbye to him.
Losing John Black and Drake Hogeystn is heartbreaking. However, we have a feeling that whatever Drake signed off on would honor his character in a way that he would have been proud of.
