‘Days of Our Lives’ (DOOL) spoilers indicate that Cherie Jimenez, who assumed the role of Gabi Hernandez DiMera in June, is a formidable actress. She took over playing the feisty Latino bombshell from fan-favorite Camilla Banus.

Jimenez recently opened up to Women’s World magazine. Being a soap recast is never easy, but Jimenez has found her footing. The fans didn’t exactly roll out the red carpet to welcome her to Days.
In fact, some fans bullied her online when she first started.
“I’m not going to sugarcoat it,” she said. I cried a bunch in the beginning.”
While Banus wasn’t the first Gabi to take on the role, she was the most popular and longest-running Gabi. Actress Gabriella Rodriguez played Gabi from 2009 to 2010. Camilla Banus was the next actress to tackle the part. She was Gabi from 2010 to 2023.
When Banus left the show, Days recast her with Jimenez.
“People miss Camilla, and even though I tried to bring elements of her to the role, I’m not Camilla,”
She commented.
“I was getting ripped apart in so many different ways and people were reaching out to do it. It really hurt.”
She said that Brandon Barash, who was recently let go from his role as Stefan DiMera, helped her get through it. He also gave her the character’s history so she could bring her own flavor to it.
Cherie learned that she couldn’t change other people’s opinions of her but could change how she reacted to them. Jimenez realized she had too much to be thankful for in her life to wallow in self-pity.

Jimenez has a wonderful husband, Sean Faris, another actor who stars in Hallmark movies. They were married in September 2017, and the couple share their beautiful two-year-old son, Phoenix. Jimenez also enjoys getting to be an actress. It was her dream to be an actress since childhood.
Since Gabi was released from prison, the actress has had to play Gabi as a woman scorned. Her husband, Stefan, slept with her co-worker. She got revenge on him by sleeping with his brother, EJ DiMera (Dan Feuerriegel).
Now, she’s in the middle of a devastating divorce. It’s been a tumultuous last couple of months for Gabi. Jimenez is excited about what’s next for her character.
Gabi’s brother, Rafe Herandez (Galen Gering), is out of his coma, and her cousin, Javi Hernandez (Al Calderon), came to Salem. With a new beginning, Gabi’s life will improve substantially.
Jimenez loves having a new addition to the Hernandez family and is excited to get to know her new co-star. With Stefan out of the picture, maybe Javi could be Gabi’s wingman and help her find love again.
Jimenez has decided she’s over the bullying and is excited to play Gabi as a strong career woman and powerhouse.
“Bullying is not okay in any form.”
She declared.
“And I choose to change the narrative and what I acknowledge. My life is very full. I’m blessed. I’m so thankful.”
