‘Days of Our Lives’ spoilers pose an interesting question to DOOL fans. Which character is most deserving of a happy ending: Chad DiMera (Billy Flynn), Xander Kiriakis (Paul Telfer), EJ DiMera (Dan Feuerriegel), or Brady Black (Eric Martsolf)?
‘Days of Our Lives’ Spoilers: Chad Has Had a Rough Life
First, let’s look at the most obvious poor sap. Chad has had it quite rough for a long time. His beloved wife, Abigail Deveraux DiMera (Marci Miller), was brutally murdered.
He spent years mourning her, pining for her, and thinking about her nonstop. Chad constantly wondered what could have been.
So, finally, he met someone who reawakened those emotions in him. Chad and Cat Greene’s (AnnaLynn McCord) relationship was over before it even started.

The Hortons vehemently disapproved of Chad spending time with Cat and were very vocal about their dislike for her.
When Cat first arrived in Salem, she was impersonating Chad’s late wife. However, there were extenuating circumstances involved.
Jennfer Horton Deveraux (Melissa Reeves) has been the most obnoxious about her disdain for Cat. She’s made some whopper mistakes. However, she’s a hypocrite and has the lowest capacity for forgiveness we’ve ever seen.

Bratty Rachel Black (Alice Halsey) told Chad’s son, Thomas DiMera (Cary Christopher), that Cat pretended to be Abigail, and all hell broke loose.
Now Jennifer has ignited a custody battle between her and Chad for his own children. Thomas wants nothing to do with his father, and Chad is now looking into a dating app. His life is a total nightmare.
‘Days of Our Lives’ Spoilers: Xander Is a Good Man with a Violent Streak Who Wants to Change
Moving on to Xander, he lost his cool when he found out that his brother, Philip Kiriakis (John Paul Laviosier), forged a letter from the late Victor Kiriakis (John Aniston) claiming that Victor wanted Philip to inherit Titan.
When Xander discovered the forgery, he beat the living daylights out of Philip, nearly killing him. Xander and Philip agreed to keep the incident a secret.
Xander had agreed to go into therapy with Marlena Evans (Deidre Hall) to learn how to control his temper. He was honestly trying to change for the love of his life, Sarah.

Yet, he lied to Sarah Horton Kiriakis (Linsey Godfrey) and told him he never beat Philip. She learned the truth about Xander almost murdering his brother, and now she’s high and mighty and telling him he’s not allowed to see his daughter.
Adding insult to injury, Sarah has broken up with Xander at least a dozen times this year. Every time Xander has fought to come back to Sarah. Sadly, Sarah can’t accept who Xander is. She never gave him credit for his efforts.

We all know Xander and Sarah will eventually find their way back to each other. Still, Sarah has been relentless and unforgiving about the incident, despite Xander working hard to be a better man.
We feel for him because he’s a flawed, complicated character who’s been taught to respond with violence. Yet he’s made great strides in improving himself and applies his therapy to his life whenever possible, even when no one sees it.
‘Days of Our Lives’ Spoilers: EJ Is His Own Worst Enemy and He’s A DiMera
Next is EJ. What can we say about EJ? In some ways, he may be the least sympathetic of the group since he tends to create his own messes. True to DiMera form, he goes after what he wants and doesn’t apologize for it.
Sadly, he’s been handed a raw deal when it comes to his love life. The two great loves of his life, Sami Brady (Alison Sweeny) and Nicole Walker (Arianne Zucker), are gone. Not to mention several others who can’t compete with his personal demons, always tempting him.

Everyone seems to leave him in the end because of his impulsive, sometimes selfish actions. Not to mention his illegal tendencies.
We can’t help but root for EJ even when he’s being a very bad boy. Not only because of his charm, but also because of his relentless pursuit of making amends with the people he loves.

He’s desperate to be in Johnny DiMera’s (Carson Boatman) life but always seems to miss the mark. Not to mention, he was shot by his own niece, Rachel, last spring.
EJ almost died, but pulled through after lingering in a coma. He claimed to have changed his ways, but still struggles with the stain of his own sins.
‘Days of Our Lives’ Spoilers: Brady’s Bratty Daughter Prevents Him from Having a Love Interest Who Isn’t Kristen
My own personal least favorite in the bunch is Brady Black (Eric Martsolf). His daughter, Rachel, always drives away any love interest Brady has who isn’t Kristen DiMera (Stacey Haiduk).
The last girlfriend Brady had, Ava Vitali (Tamara Braun), Rachel conspired with her grandmother to hold her hostage at Aremid.
We definitely don’t love how Brady has put all the blame on Kristen for the way Rachel has turned out. Nor did we love him railroading Kristen when she was being sent to prison for a crime she didn’t commit (Rachel did).

Yet, Brady has his moments. Plus, we recognize his inability to have a girlfriend without his bratty daughter interfering and generally causing mischief and mayhem.
If Brady knew the truth about Rachel shooting EJ, he would feel ridiculous for how he treated Kristen.
That said, we think the winner of the misery contest is Chad. Let’s face it: Chad’s life is basically a tragedy. He’s facing the possibility of losing his kids to Jennifer.

Jennifer is trying to take their only living parent from them. Not to mention that he’s an incredibly lonely man with a broken heart.
All the contenders have their share of heartbreak, but Chad’s life is literally one more broken relationship away from a country song. If we had to pick one man who deserves a happy ending the most, it would be Chad.
