‘Days of Our Lives’ (DOOL) spoilers for the week of August 14th reveal the day fans knew was inevitable is here. Salem will finally say farewell to Victor Kiriakis in the wake of John Aniston’s passing. Let’s take a look at the promo for the week. We’ll also share some thoughts on the character.
‘Days of Our Lives’ Spoilers For week of August 14: The promo
First, ‘Days of Our Lives’ spoilers reveal the promo is simple, yet heartbreaking. The clip shows the various Kiriakis family members reacting to the news and crying on each other’s shoulders.
We love the voiceover from Kate DiMera (Lauren Koslow) where she says there will never be another Victor Kiriakis. It’s so true. There are also several older clips of Aniston, which means we’re in for quite a bit of reminiscing, and we’re looking forward to that part.
As newer viewers, we didn’t see Victor in his full glory, so it’s always nice to get some old clips, as when they put together a collection shortly after Aniston’s passing.
‘Days of Our Lives’ Spoilers For week of August 14: The aftermath
Elsewhere, let’s talk about the characters and how this might change things. For one, we can see where Xander is going to be going through some hard times, as Maggie Kiriakis (Suzanne Rogers) had asked for Xander to come to that party to make peace with his uncle. They had their problems, sure, but we can’t help but think Xander will be crushed to realize that peace won’t come.
As for Brady Black (Eric Martsolf), we wonder if the one-two punch of losing custody of his daughter and losing Victor will lead to some dark days for the character. It also appears Brady and Xander are hugging in the video, so maybe this will help ease some tensions in the family as well.
We also can’t help but wonder how Maggie will handle Titan going forward. She seemed to enjoy stepping in, but will this make her lose the drive and confidence to keep leading the company?
‘Days of Our Lives’ Spoilers For week of August 14: On Victor
Finally, we just have to talk about Victor a moment. In the years we have been watching, this character has been a favorite. His one-liners and put-upon reactions to people moving in were great moments that made the show fun.
And no one played a grump better, so we will sorely miss him and his influence on his family. Also, the softer side of himself we saw when he was with Maggie. They were a great pair that showed true love and acceptance, as well as how love can make a person better.
