‘Days of Our Lives’ (DOOL) spoilers find that Lauren Koslow celebrated her 25th anniversary of playing femme fatale Kate Roberts in January. This was celebrated on screen with a throwback clip of her first scenes after the role was recast from the originating actress, Deborah Adair.
In a decidedly un-Kate scenario, fans were introduced to Lauren’s Kate as she was chopping off fish heads on a trawler! What? Yes, there have been many ups and downs in the life of Kate Roberts from crashing on a plane after Vivian Alamaine (now portrayed by Linda Dano) poisoned the pilot.

Of course, Kate survived (leading to the aformention fishy scene) and went on to deal some dastardly deeds of her own like hiring a thug to force Chloe Lane (Nadia Bjorlin) to become a prostitute and persuading a dying man to sign a false murder confession in order to save son Lucas Horton (Bryan Dattilo)–and in turn enemy, Sami Brady (Alison Sweeney).
Of course Kate is now living on easy street in the DiMera mansion with her young, hot stud of a boyfriend, Jake Lambert (Brandon Barash). But is Jake really the right man for Kate. Lauren doesn’t think so, she has a different man in mind for who Kate’s soul mate really is.
Kate has had many, many marriages and relationships so were any of her former husbands or the fathers of her children the man of Kate’s dreams?
Roman Brady, with whom Kate had twins- Rex and Cassie Brady (Kyle Lowder and Alexis Thorpe) has often been thought of by viewers as the man Kate belongs with, especially after the twosome began to work together again at Roman’s Brady Pub. But Lauren revealed that Roman is not the man she has in mind as her alter-ego’s perfect match.
Is it another of the much younger men she has romanced like Rafe Hernandez (Galen Gering)? No. Her last fling before hooking up with Jake- Jack Devereaux (Matthew Ashford)? No. Bad boys Clyde Weston (James Reed) or Ted Laurent (Gilles Marini)? No and no. Okay then, we give up. Who is it, Lauren? It’s none other than…Eduardo Hernandez (A. Martinez)! What?
Says Lauren: “I know it was very short lived, but I think that from the moment they met, they instinctually felt a kinship. They got each other, kind of like a soul mate thing, or a spirit animal. I think she really let down her guard with him. It was the real thing, and it hadn’t been that way in a long time.” Lauren finished by saying, “Their story was shorter, but it was really an emotional one.”
Wow, who’d have thunk? Maybe the writers will bring back Eduardo again one day, and not just to escort his kids to Mexico. It sure will make Gabi happy to have Kate out of the way as she makes her plays for Jake. But how will Gabi feel if Kate was to become her step-mother? I am so down to find out!
