Conner Floyd may just be stepping into Salem, but the real question isn’t about his debut — it’s about whether Chad DiMera is already on a collision course with chaos.
Because if Floyd’s recent interview with The Soap Scene gives any indication, trouble is already brewing.
A Major Debut — With No Time to Settle In
After filming nearly ten months ahead, Floyd finally watched his first episode of Days of Our Lives — a milestone moment he marked with family and friends.
“We are going to have over a couple of friends and her dad’s actually in town,” he shared.
But while the celebration felt personal, the role itself comes with immediate pressure. Chad isn’t returning quietly — and neither is the drama surrounding him.

“It’s Game Time” From the Start
Transitioning from The Young and the Restless to Days, Floyd quickly realized there’s no easing into Salem life.
“One thing I learned pretty quickly over here is the pace is a lot faster than Y&R,” he said. “As soon as you walk through those doors, it’s game time.”
That intensity reflects exactly what Chad is facing — a fast-moving storm of family tension and unresolved issues.
A “Circus” Awaits Chad in Salem
From the moment Chad returns, things are anything but calm.
“Chad has just come back to town, and it’s kind of a circus with all these family members stirring the pot and causing drama,” Floyd said, adding, “And so he’s trying to find his own way amongst this DiMera path that he’s kind of forced upon.”
That “circus” atmosphere is classic DiMera territory — and it raises the question of whether Chad can actually stay grounded in the middle of it.
Can He Really Be the Opposite of Stefano?
Chad’s approach to his family legacy is clear — but it may not be realistic.
“I think Chad’s M.O. is just to try to do exactly the opposite of what Stefano DiMera would do,” Floyd shared.
It’s a bold statement, especially given Stefano’s lasting influence over Salem. Trying to reject that legacy is one thing — escaping it is another.
A Father Trying to Do Better

At the heart of Chad’s story is his desire to break the cycle, especially when it comes to his children.
“Chad is trying to put his emotions aside and trying to do the right thing,” Floyd explained. “And especially with Thomas, be his dad and lead by example, and not do what his own dad would have done.”
That emotional shift could redefine Chad — or put him in an even more difficult position when the drama escalates.
A “Double-Edged Sword” Could Change Everything
Even as Chad tries to find stability, it may not last long.
Floyd hinted at major developments ahead, teasing a storyline tied to Stefano’s will that won’t be as straightforward as it seems.
“I’m excited for the rest of the episodes to come out because we’ve got some juicy storylines coming up,” he told. “There’s some fun, fun stuff coming up — I promise you that!”
And in Salem, “fun” rarely comes without consequences.
With family tensions rising and a major twist looming, Chad may already be closer to the DiMera chaos than he realizes — whether he wants to be or not.
