‘Days of Our Lives’ Spoilers have wondered why Jennifer Horton (Melissa Reeves) went so insane.
She’s been a flat character for a while as she’s only brought in to mourn Abigail Deveraux (Marci Miller) and pout. But now, she’s got her own storyline and it’s a dark one.
She’s had everyone in Salem tell her to get over her hatred of Cat Greene (AnnaLynne McCord), or to at least accept she’s not evil.
She’s refused, and she’s been fueled in doing so by Julie Williams (Susan Seaforth Hayes).
But now that she’s willing to sue Chad DiMera (Billy Flynn) for custody, we thing we figured out her malfunction.
‘Days of Our Lives’ Spoilers: Chad failed to protect Abigail
‘Days of Our Lives’ Spoilers love when storylines make sense and have some sensible continuity.
It’s been hit or miss on both lately, but it looks like the writers are hitting their stride with this storyline.
Chad calling out Jennifer about wanting to replace Abigail was spot on, but we think for another reason as well.
She blames Chad for Abigail’s murder. Sure, Clyde Weston (James Read) killed her, but Chad should’ve been there.
Had he not been at the movies with the kids, he could’ve stopped Clyde. Never mind it was Abigail’s choice to remain home. Never mind her blood is on Clyde’s hands.
If she put her hate and frustration on Clyde, then she’s understand that Cat is as much a victim as anyone else.
The fact she’s redirecting her hate at Cat, but more so Chad, makes it clear she blames him.
As Julie told Chad a bit back, it isn’t Cat they’re angry with, but their disappointment in him for giving Cat a chance.
Julie embodies the pious hypocrisy of the Hortons, and Jennifer is taking it to new leves.
After all, she’s married to a rapist. But Jack Deveraux (Mathew Ashford) is a Horton-Lite (by marriage) and can be forgiven.
‘Days of Our Lives’ Spoilers: Jennifer needs serious therapy
As is standard in soaps, Jennifer needs some serious therapy. Had Gwen Rizczeck (Emily O’Brien) told the police about her drunk driving, Jennifer would’ve been forced into rehab and therapy.
But she got out of that by Gwen not pressing charges for Jack’s sake.
Now, with Clyde in a coma, Jennifer has a target she can focus on taking out her hate on in Chad.
She’s not holding back, blaming him for his son running into traffic while not accepting any responsibility for her and Julie’s comments gaslighting Thomas DiMera (Cary Christopher).
We have a feeling Chad will give into Jennifer’s claims, making her a righteous Horton self with little blowback while she poison’s Chad’s kids against him.
