‘Days of Our Lives’ (DOOL) spoilers find that it was almost a “blink and you’ll miss him’ return of Eric Brady (Greg Vaughan) this week- well, if it weren’t such a dramatic storyline he walked into, of course.
It was a much better pay off than fans thought they’d get though when guilt-ridden Nicole Walker Brady (Arianne Zucker) typed out her email confession to her priestly hubby. Thankfully she couldn’t ring herself to press send.

Vaughan returning for the short cameo where we all got to see his marriage dissolve in real time as Xander Kiriakis (Paul Telfer) crashed the anniversary party to announce he’s slept with Nicole was the pre-Olympic hiatus fans needed.
We all knew it wouldn’t be a long appearance, but it was an emotional one as Eric and Nicole had it out over his absence and her indiscretion, culminating in the complete breakdown of their one year marriage.
Now, with Eric hopping on the next plane to (geographically ambiguous) Africa, we can only wonder what’s next in store for Nicole.
Surely after she rains down fiery vengeance upon her foe, Sami Brady (Alison Sweeney) and throws her own live grenade in Sami and EJ DiMera’s (Dan Feuerriegel) marriage (will Sami ever learn about living in glasshouses and throwing stones?), she will need to turn to a friend, a good friend, a good-looking fried? To help her over the destruction of her marriage.
It has long been teased that Rafe Hernandez (Galen Gering) and Nicole will be Salem’s next great couple. Unfortunately, there is an Ava Vitali (Tamara Braun) in the way, and we’ve all seen that hell hath no murderous obsession like a mob-Princess scorned.
