Football star, (and Mr. Posh Spice), David Beckham was seen being interrogated by Italian police as he and his family enjoyed their European vacation.
The Beckhams’ yacht was moored off the Amalfi Coast when a police boat was spotted pulling up to the vessel. According to eye-witnesses, Beckham instantly co-operated with the polizia, granting them access to the private yacht where they reportedly spent around 45 minutes speaking with him.
It can’t have been anything too serious though, as the officers were seen getting selfies with the sportsman.
David Beckham Questioned by Italian Police On Private Yacht
Though it is still not 100% confirmed why police sought the Beckhams out, it is believed it is because Victoria Beckham and David’s children- 16 year old Cruz and 10 year old Harper were jet skiing.
In Italy, to operate a jet ski the driver must be at least 18 and have a boat license, making Cruz and Harper too young (and likely unlicensed) to be riding without an adult.
Those who were privy to the family’s relaxing time away said that both Cruz (sporting a shock of pink hair) and Harper were wearing life jackets and staying close to yacht, however, someone must have been uncomfortable with the situation and alerted the police.
While these specific police– Guardia Finanza are more often than not deal with drug smuggling, they pulled up to the Beckham yacht to let him know his kids were breaking an Italian law.
Beckham reportedly called his children back to the yacht. They anchored the jet-ski and climbed back on board.
While the poor Beckham children had to figure out a different way to enjoy themselves on board the luxury yacht, sailing alongside the Italian coast, Beckham was all smiles with the police, obliging the selfie and fist bumping the officers in thanks for “keeping his family safe” before the police boat jetted away again.
