Netflix News: Is David Beckham About To Get A Documentary Series Focused On His Life?

Netflix news has revealed that David Beckham could be the next sports star to get the Michael Jordan treatment on his career. Sports fans were hooked by the Jordan inspired ‘The Last Dance’, which followed the NBA star and the Chicago Bulls as they won championship after championship throughout the 90s.

Social media lit up this week as it was revealed that Netflix could be looking to release a documentary focused on the former England captain. It would certainly make sense as Beckham is to football what Jordan was to basketball, and there are certainly a number of issues throughout his career that fans of all sports will be interested to hear more about.

Netflix News: No Plans Yet Finalised

Beckham himself was inspired by The Last Dance, and has quickly tried to jump on that bandwagon by using his Studio 99 TV firm. The megastar is reportedly in talks with Amazon as well as Netflix surrounding the series. Its style would follow the same pattern as the Jordan documentary as it will reportedly include archive footage as well as more recent clips.

A source has said that this is something that Beckham has wanted to do for a while now, as he looks ahead to what is coming next in his life. Keen fans of football will be aware that Beckham has stepped into owning over recent years, with his Inter Miami team now playing in the MLS for the first ever time.

Netflix News: Fans Already Looking Forward To Series

While it hasn’t even been officially announced yet, there is already a great deal of anticipation for what fans could expect to see. It has been revealed that the series could focus on his life post-retirement and could look at how the creation of his MLS side has come to fruition. However, fans of sport will be hoping that they are still given an insight into his playing career.

Beckham began his football career with Manchester United after being scouted. He was part of the famous Class of 92, which also included future United stars Gary Neville, Paul Scholes, Nicky Butt, Phil Neville and Ryan Giggs. He would win six Premier League titles with United before a falling out with iconic boss Sir Alex Ferguson led to his departure to Real Madrid.

Fans will also be intrigued to hear about his experience following the 1998 World Cup where he was scapegoated after England’s defeat to Argentina. The series could be one of the most exciting from a sports perspective in recent years.
