CBS ‘The Young and the Restless’ (Y&R) spoilers is taking things safe, but certainly not as safe as ‘Bold and the Beautiful’ is. While their sister CBS soap is making sure that all of the proper precautions are taken in order to help stop the spread of the coronavirus by using stand ins and blow up dolls for the more intimate scenes, that’s not the case over at Y&R. Here’s what you need to know.
Speaking to Oregon’s AM Extra along with actress Christel Khalil (Lily Winters), actor Jason Thompson (Billy Abbott) revealed that everyone is back at work and that yes, they are adhering to all of the CDC guidelines when it comes to social distancing. However, they are not using blow up dolls nor are their spouses coming in to do all of the “touching” scenes with them like the cast is over at ‘Bold and the Beautiful’.

Jason said that it feels absolutely great to be back, saying, “ You know, it’s been a decent amount of time away and we miss everybody, so it’s been really great to see everybody. It’s great to get back to the stage, let’s say, and to do what we love to do and it’s been handled very well and we all feel safe and we’re just excited to bring new episodes to people.”
The actor also said that while there are daily temperature checks and everyone is wearing masks behind the scenes, no one is using props just yet to facilitate any of the love scenes. He explained, “No replacements on our set, no. No mannequins—and, uh, no. I don’t think anybody’s doing that yet on ours and I think that, as we go, we’ll figure out how to get more intimate and closer once we continue to kind of—so far, we’re about four or five weeks in so far, and so far everybody’s been safe and it’s been a really positive work experience for everyone.”
