Princess Beatrice celebrates her fourth wedding anniversary on Wednesday to her husband, Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, whom she married on July 17th, 2020.

Due To Covid, The Original Wedding Plans Were Scrapped

As Princess Beatrice exchanged her vows with her new spouse, the world was in the throes of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The wedding was initially planned for May 29th at the Chapel Royal on the grounds of St. James Place in London.

The reception was supposed to take place at Buckingham Palace, but the plans were scrapped because of the pandemic. Lockdown rules stipulated that wedding receptions and after-parties were strictly prohibited.

The twosome married at the Royal Chapel of All Saints at the Royal Lodge in Windsor. Given the circumstances, the ceremony was small.

The chapel was decorated with fragrant pink and white flowers. Beatrice’s wedding bouquet included jasmine, pale pink and cream sweet peas, baby pink flowers, garden roses, and myrtle springs.

Princess Beatrice was isolated from close family members, including Prince Andrew so that he could walk her down the aisle.

Her wedding was incredibly low-key compared to her sister, Princess Eugenie’s nuptials. Beatrice had about 20 guests at her ceremony.

Although there wasn’t much pomp and pageantry like most royal weddings, the ceremony was magical as Beatrice married the love of her life.

She wore the same dress that Queen Elizabeth wore for a state dinner in Rome in 1961. Beatrice immediately knew this was the perfect gown for her and asked the Queen to borrow it. Famous 20th-century British designer Norman Hartnell designed the dress.

The vintage gown was made from Peau De Soie taffeta in ivory and trimmed with satin with Organza sleeves and embroidered with diamantes.

Her Majesty’s dresser and designer, Stewart Parvin, altered and meticulously remodeled the dress.

Beatrice also wore the Queen Mary Diamond Fringe Tiara, which the Queen wore at her wedding to Prince Philip on November 20th, 1947.

Queen Mary, who acquired the tiara from her first cousin, Queen Victoria, in 1919, gave it to the monarch.

Beatrice’s mother, Sarah Ferguson, read two of the couple’s favored verses, “Sonnet 116” by Shakespeare, along with “I Carry You in My Heart” by E.E. Cummings.

Edoardo’s adorable son, Wolfie, whom he shares with his ex Dara Huang, was both best man and pageboy.

After the wedding, Beatrice wrote on Instagram,

“Edo and I are so excited to embark on this new chapter together,”

    she exclaimed.

“Wearing my grandmother’s beautiful dress on my wedding day was an honor. I hope many of you are able to visit the exhibition, which is still open at Windsor Castle.”

The pair welcomed their little girl, Sienna, in September 2021. They gave her the middle name Elizabeth in honor of Beatrice’s grandmother.

Edoardo took to social media earlier today to celebrate their wedding anniversary by sharing a lovely, never-before-seen photo on Instagram.

The picture shows Beatrice and Edo kissing while holding hands in a scenic outdoor area. Edo shared a heartfelt message to his wife:

“Happy 4th wedding anniversary, my love. Every day is so special with you. I love you so much.”
