For a lot of royal fans, this makes sense as Meghan made it pretty clear that she was not planning on doing any major traveling for the next several months, even though a few trips to London are on her husband Prince Harry’s calendar. Here’s what you need to know.
British Royal Family News: Meghan Markle’s Due Date Might Be Right Around The Corner
While the Duchess of Sussex herself has been rather quiet over the details about her second pregnancy, she and Prince Harry did announce last weekend that they are expecting once again. Meghan, 39, and Harry, 36, shared the news on Valentine’s Day with a black-and-white photo showing her laying under a tree with her head on Harry’s lap and a visible baby bump.
“We can confirm that Archie is going to be a big brother. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are overjoyed to be expecting their second child,” a spokesperson for the couple said in a statement.
With that said, insiders say Prince Harry was supposed to travel to London in July for the unveiling of a Princess Diana statue at Kensington Palace Gardens. However, that might not happen as the Duke of Sussex is not expected to solidify any plans because of Meghan’s pregnancy.
According to People Magazine, one source close to the situation says that Harry “is determined to at least make it back to the U.K. for the long-awaited unveiling of the statue to his mother, Princess Diana, that’s taking place at Kensington Palace in July. That is the event he is hoping to be able to return for, those close to him say. However, no travel arrangements have been solidified for the spring or summer.”
