There’s a new report that suggests Brian Laundrie was reportedly ‘grieving’ when he disappeared for about a month after the death of his fiance, Gabby Petito. Even though it took a month before authorities in Florida could find the decomposed remains to Brian Laundrie, there’s a new report that suggests he left his parents house in nearby North Port, Florida, to go on a hike, but never returned home. Here’s what you need to know.
The last time Brian Laundrie was seen or heard from was on September 13th, which happened to be two days before Gabby Petito was reported to be missing. Yet, local police say that they thought Laundrie was still inside his parents’ home when they knocked on the front door on September 17th.
Brain Laundrie Was Reportedly ‘Grieving’ When He Disappeared
Laundrie family attorney, Steve Bertolino told ABC News that Brian’s father, Chris Laundrie, believed his son was “grieving” and upset when he left for the Sept. 13 hike. The public didn’t know Petito was dead until authorities said they found her remains on Sept. 19.
With that said, Bertolino declined to comment over Laundrie’s mental state when he left or what he was “grieving” about.
Earlier this month, Teton County Coroner Dr. Brent Blue said there are many details about the condition of Gabby Petito’s body he cannot yet reveal due them to the public just yet. Gabby Petito’s cause of death was strangulation, and the manner of death was homicide.
He also revealed that she was not pregnant. In addition, Blue said he estimates Petito died about 3-4 weeks before her body was found. He said her body was outside, “in the wildness,” during that time.
