The episode on Friday, April 24 looks like it’s going to be an interesting character building episode.
Doug McBride (Jason Graham) will take Randy Parker (Maurice P. Kerry)’s advice and fight his way out of his addiction. To start, he’s going to admit he has a gambling problem.

We’re curious if he’ll admit it to Vanessa McBride (Lauren Buglioli) or try to go it alone.
Naomi Hamilton Hawthorne (Arielle Prepetit) will team up with Jacob Hawthorne (Jibre Hordges) to help a combative homeless woman.
It looks like Jacob will find her, and that will open the door for Nicole to step in and try to help her. We’re curious what the backstory is and we can’t wait to see it unfold.

‘Beyond the Gates’ Spoilers love the dynamic between Doug and Randy as they try to navigate the waters around Joey Armstrong (Jon Lindstrom).
Randy’s been walking a line between the two as he’s tried to help Doug as much as he can. It looks like he’s finally gotten Doug to look at himself.
The first step of dealing with a problem is by admitting we have one, and Doug will do that.
We assume he’ll admit it to Vanessa, but if not it’d make sense if he goes to a gamblers anonymous.
‘Beyond the Gates’ Spoilers for Friday, April 25: Defending the defenseless
We love Naomi and Jacob’s relationship and dichotomy. What’s really cool about a lawyer and policeman relationship is when their paths cross.
Jacob will come across a homeless woman who will be combative, so we think it’ll be some kind of abuse case.
There are so many different possibilities here and it’s hard to go wrong with any of them.
This will open the door for Naomi, who Jacob may call to handle the woman’s case. Naomi will agree to defend her, and it’ll be fun to see how well the two of them work together.
Even if this is over a minor infraction on the woman’s part, it’ll be fun to watch this. Everyone has every day problems, and seeing how it plays out will be interesting.
It’ll also open the door for future pairings with them, as well as possible ethical questions if Jacob always calls his wife.
