‘Beyond the Gates’ spoilers pose the question: Do you like the new sexy Nicole Dupree (Daphnee Duplaix)? Nicole’s character has certainly shifted from a responsible, professional, high-achieving perfectionist who would never dream of playing the field.
‘Beyond the Gates’ Spoilers: Nicole Is Playing the Field and Enjoying the Single Life
As a psychiatrist, Nicole was smart and stable and took pride in her respectable identity. Now, gone is the logical and level-headed woman who was heartbroken over the loss of her marriage to Ted Richardson (Keith D. Robinson).
Nicole is now a sexy minx who’s seemingly gotten her groove back. She’s dating a couple of different men and is exploring her options, and she’s totally entitled to do so. However, some fans are concerned that she’s moving too fast, which could cost her emotionally.
That said, Nicole was having a good time and great sex with Carlton Fitzgerald (Robert Christopher Riley). She was honest with him and told him she didn’t want any strings attached.
However, in the February 11th episode of BTG, Carlton was clearly hurt and bothered by Nicole’s openly flirting with smooth and attractive Kial Rollins (Greg Vaughn). Nicole knew that Carlton took issue with her dating another man.
That didn’t stop Nicole for a second. She happily hopped right into bed with Kial guilt-free. Admittedly, their love scene was very hot as Duplaix has way more chemistry with Vaughn than she does with Riley.
I really think Nicole deserves this after the truth coming out about Ted cheating on her with Leslie Thomas (Trisha Mann Grant) while they were married. Not to mention, a secret daughter, Eva Thomas (Ambyr Michelle).
Plus, Nicole has been upfront with these two men, letting them know that her goal is to have fun, not make a commitment.
‘Beyond the Gates’ Spoilers: Nicole’s Character Shift Makes Perfect Sense
Nicole recently divorced Ted and isn’t looking for anything serious, which is totally understandable. Carlton may be coming on too strong, and it’s likely a major turn-off for Nicole, who’s busy sewing her wild oats.
Kial seems to be more of Nicole’s speed right now. He’s more spontaneous and fun than Carlton is. Nicole’s transition has been great fun to watch as Daphnee appears to be having so much fun with her character’s walk on the wild side.
Nicole is dressing all kinds of sexy, and abandoning her conservative attitude for a lighter, less intimidating demeanor. She’s experiencing the single life on her own terms and making no apologies.
Of course, she’s still the good sister to wildcard, Dani Dupree (Karla Mosley), a supportive mother to Martin Richardson (Brandon Claybon), and Kat Richardson (Colby Muhammud). Not to mention, a model daughter to Anita Dupree (Tamara Tunie) and Vernon Dupree (Clifton Davis).
She’s been through a lot and deserves to feel attractive and desirable, and to have fun. The role Nicole plays in her family hasn’t changed, but her newfound sense of adventure and desire to let loose certainly has.
I think Nicole’s character shift makes perfect sense. While some viewers preferred Nicole before, I think she’s far more entertaining overall and should be able to experience the dating scene in a way she obviously wouldn’t have been able to when married.
It’s time for Nicole to fully come into her own and go on this journey of self-discovery, no matter who’s judging her for doing it.
