As the kids these days say, he’s been canceled and clearly, no one wants to see him ever again. A lot of BBC viewers are upset over the fact that they had to see Prince Andrew in a new documentary about the life and legacy of his father, Prince Philip. Keep reading for everything you need to know.
The hour-long documentary was supposed to air on Prince Philip’s 100th birthday, but sadly he passed one month before he were to mark the milestone day. The doc also features commentary from Prince William and Prince Harry and other senior members of the royal family.
BBC Viewers Complain Over Prince Andrew’s Appearance In New Prince Philip Documentary
“Prince Philip: The Royal Family Remembers” aired on BBC One on Wednesday, September 22nd. “My children have the most amazing relationship with their grandfather,” the embattled Andrew said in the doc. He taught us to swim, he taught us to play badminton… all sorts of sports. He taught me to drive.”
And while there were a lot of people who thoroughly enjoyed the documentary, others believe that Prince Andrew had no place in it. After all, alleged sex trafficking victim Virginia Giuffre is currently suing the prince for sexual assault. She claims that she was forced to have sex with him several times when she was just a minor.
Of course, it didn’t take long at all for the royal family’s critics and detractors to complain about the fact that they had to see Andrew’s mug on the telly again.
Many disgruntled BBC viewers took to their social media accounts to complain with, “This would be a great PR exercise for the Royal Family… [grimace face emoji] and then they rolled out Andrew. Read the room!” Another critic wrote, “The nation everytime Prince Andrew appears on this #PrincePhilip program: ‘Oh jog on.’”
