Survivor 42 Spoilers: What a Difference a Season Makes!

Survivor 42 spoilers find that the season is going from strength to strength with another bats#!t crazy tribal, plenty of good vibes (and good jabs) from the newest torch-snuffee, challenge beasts going head-to-head, secrets and back-sta…you know what, it will be easier just to break episode 11, another of the greats, down.

Survivor 42 Spoilers: Johnathan is hangry…and you won’t like him when he’s hangry

Johnathan Young is hangry…and whiny…and feeling underfed underappreciated…and is drawing a neon target on his own back. As zero-bodyfat-or-muscle-to-feed-off-Romeo Escobar sneaks handfuls of rice from his primo spot by the fire (Sheldon Cooper would be impressed by Romeo’s loyalty to ‘his spot’) Goliath is shutting down while only ingesting about a fifth of the calories he’s burning daily, just to keep his huge bulk moving.

Look, I know he was a snippy d#$k when the other’s asked him about the fishing net, but I was kind of on Johnathan’s side there. Figure it out! Aren’t you all adults who signed up to be on the show?

It seems I was the only one who understood the not-so-gentle (anymore) giant and, until he can get a Snickers into him, Johnathan is now known as the hangry beast- and no one wants to play with a hangry beast.

This is what lead to Johnathan choosing to compete in the immunity challenge- with only my girl Lindsay Dolashewich and her physicality up to the challenge of either knocking him out putting her head on the chopping block.

It was a little shocking to see only one other castaway choose to compete in the immunity challenge/do or die…but then, it wasn’t. The fact that five other castaways decided their chances to outlast Goliath during the “medieval punishment post stand-a-thon” were worse than their chances of being voted off illustrates just how uneven the playing field is with Johnathan still in the game.

Unfortunately for Lindsay, her competitive streak got the better of her reasoning, she tried, she failed and she was forced to open one of three boxes in a twist that was just as unpopular with viewers this time around as it was during season 41 (even more so when Lindsey’s life was on the line…no? Just me? Where my Lindsay stans at?).

The Do or Die 1-in-3 chance again proved pointless, with Lindsay pulling a Deshawn Radden and choosing the correct box to keep her in the game rather than allowing a truly unfair twist to send her packing. The only thing that may have come out of the 66.66% chance that there would be no vote (other than giving Lindsay -and her stans-major anxiety) was perhaps plying Drea Wheeler with far too much confidence?

Why on earth would Drea tell the master manipulator, Omar Zaheer about her Knowledge is Power advantage?

Survivor 42 Spoilers: Is it the emu shirt? It must be the emu shirt.

Everyone trusts Omar. No one can see that Hai Giang, Drea or any other jury member is all just collateral damage on the way to Omar waltzing away with a cool million dollars, appearing to have very little blood on his hands (until stories are swapped at Ponderosa, that is).

It appears the Survivor Gods are in tune with viewers (but not with Tori Meehan) as, yet again (and like the unfair Do or Die) the far-too-mighty Knowledge is Power advantage was wasted, thanks to Omar playing Drea in his “I slice into animals and it doesn’t phase me” calm and collected way.

It may not have been as satisfying to watch as season 41’s play between Xander Hastings and Liana Wallace, but Drea did get her Omar dig in before helping host Jeff Probst snuff her own torch in a pretty hilarious episode ending.

Survivor 42 Spoilers: Opinions of Survivor fans are loud and clear, this season is far superior to season 41.

It could be that the twists and turns are no longer as shocking to the purists, but what has this season running rings around the same format season prior really comes down to the dynamic and root-for-able cast. The Survivor editing team is also knocking it out of the park this time round…usually.

A major example of why this cast is far more enjoyable to watch than those of season 41 is just how jovial the booted castaways are when they are told to get the heck out of Dodge. First Hai was simply delighted that his oust was a blindside and now Drea and Mike Turner had a fun moment where he basically high fived her for putting his head on the chopping block. Drea then sang her team’s praises and accidentally(?) gave Mike the kiss of death by announcing he’d win the whole kit and kaboodle (in her humble opinion).

In what should be a warning to the tribe, Drea’s final philanthropic dig, letting the tribe know that Omar was the one who double crossed her will likely just have them seeing Omar as being loyal to them, not as the undercover cutthroat castaway he is.

It has to be the emu shirt.

With what we’ve seen so far, it does look like we will have a jury who will be able to appreciate cunning game play, instead of having their hurt feelings over being voted out dictate where they place their vote. This gives Omar even more of a chance to earn the title of Sole Survivor so the other castaways may want to heed Drea’s warning if they want a shot at the million dollars!
