‘Survivor 42’ Spoilers: Maryanne Oketch – From Cheerful to Tearful- Is the End Nigh?

‘Survivor 42’ spoilers find that the world’s happiest Canadian started to show some major emotion during the most recent episode of Survivor and though she tried to play a lot of it off as strategy, is this a sign that she is finally cracking?

Maryanne became a fan favorite with her ultra-positive attitude and appreciating for having a place in the (world’s best) game. As time has gone on, she has become less popular with her tribe, mostly due to her grating Energizer Bunny ways and incessant chatter.

Now Maryanne is feeling the solitude as she is aware she is a part of the bottom ranks of the newly merged Kula Kula tribe.

‘Survivor 42’ Spoilers: Maryanne – From Cheerful to Tearful- Is the End Nigh?

Sidebar– I did not pull that name out of the ether- deleted scenes showed the tribe naming their new tribe and painting their flag- post Drea Wheeler’s terrible ‘caught red handed’ cover-up (ever heard of scratching your arm on a twig, Drea?)

Ordinarily with a smile so bright, she could’ve been a candle, it was quite jarring to see Maryanne in tears, triggered by the feeling of not fitting in, giving her flashbacks to her schoolyard days in Canada.

Maryanne knows the game, the outside factors that go into someone not knowing where the majority vote is going…yet she still can’t help but feeling “too weird to be with the cool kids.”

And we’re told Canadians are nice…who was isolating Maryanne at school? Hands up!

The raw emotion coming from Maryanne during her confessional was very real, which is why viewers couldn’t quite believe the impassioned speech she gave at the immunity challenge– guilting Omar into joining herself, Lindsay and Drea to sit out in order to earn a bag of rice for the tribe, was all strategy.

Fans are worried- is Maryanne cracking now that she is on the outs?

Strategically speaking, Maryanne did ingratiate herself with the tribe because of her sacrifice, but with Tori winning immunity, if Chanelle and Romeo both played idols or shots in the dark successfully, would Johnathan really have stuck by his word to not vote her out, thanking her for her sacrifice? Doubtful.

What do you think of Maryanne- are you a stan who is worried about her mental state and longevity in the game or are you happily anticipating her torch being snuffed in 3 tribals or less?
