Adam ‘The Podfather’ Carolla is no fan of California Governor Gavin Newsom. In fact, he’s furious that it appears that the COVID restrictions put into place in California were strictly political.
The comedian and podcaster was on TMZ Life and said that Newsom lifting the restrictions to allow outdoor dining and other businesses to reopen makes the initial orders seem random and pointless.
TMZ made the point that “SoCal’s ICU capacity is still near 0% — however, state modeling predicts it will rise to 33.3% in the next 4 weeks.” So there obviously something to it.

Adam Carolla Says Gov. Newsom Is “Too Little, Too Late”
Carolla has said he’s not one to run for office but has some ideas of how California can stop its residents from moving to other states like Texas. While Carolla may seem like he’s just ranting and seems like a conspiracy theorist, there are plenty of statistics that back his comments up (like the one above).
When asked who Carolla would rather have in power over Gavin Newsom, he said an “empty banjo case” at this point. This isn’t the first time Carolla has called out the California Governor and is still hoping that this will be the case to recall the man in power.
Surprisingly to a lot of viewers, Carolla isn’t an “anti-masker”. In fact, he states that’s what he would suggest. Wear the mask, social distance, and be aware, but open things back up. At the end of the day, this is a virus, its nature, and it’s going to be there.
