ABC ‘General Hospital’ (GH) spoilers reveal the Nurses Ball must go on. Despite the limitations placed on filming, the behind the scenes team got creative to make it work. Instead of the typical production, the Nurses Ball turned into a Telethon. We love it! But after seeing so many past events and experiencing the 2020 one, we couldn’t help but notice something.
ABC ‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: The basics
So, we know that the Nurses Ball is a bit of a tribute to the past. Inspired by the tragic illness and death of Stone Cates (Michael Sutton), it took on new meaning when Robin Scorpio (Kimberly McCullough) learned she was also infected.
This turned into a yearly tradition we personally look forward to. It’s a nice way to do a little something different once a year while honoring the show’s past. And sometimes, it feels like tradition is more important than ever. It’s what brings us together and brings extra meaning to life. But we find it odd there’s a bit of a contradiction.
ABC ‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Strange contradiction
So, ‘General Hospital’ spoilers indicate this event is a long-standing tradition. It usually begins a little before the actual event with Lucy Coe (Lynn Herring) coming along to find performers and hustle sponsors. This sounds bad, but it doesn’t seem to bother most all that much.
In fact, most characters seem to absolutely love the Nurses Ball. They connect with the cause and put their hearts into the performances. Anyone who’s anyone goes to the Nurses Ball each year. If you’re not there? You’re likely dead, in jail, or no longer in town. So that’s why we find some of the side stories during the Ball so strange.
It seems that, beloved and respected as the Ball is in town, people can’t help but make it all about themselves. Looking back at some of the old episodes aired since the shutdown, it seems to be most characters’ favorite stage for getting revenge. Like when Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) interrupted the festivities to humiliate a rival.
Plus, how many people let their personal dramas distract them from the fun of the evening? It seems like no one can set anything aside for the one night. Sure, we get they need something in the episodes. But for the characters to act out there/disrupt performances? It seems overkill. This year was no exception for drama. But at least a lot of it was accidental.
ABC ‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Highlights
First, General Hospital spoilers reveal we had a personal highlight to kick things off. Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms) had been stressing over revealing her pregnancy to Peter August (Wes Ramsey). She didn’t have to worry. Thanks to a technical mishap, she ended up announcing her condition live on air. Talk about stealing the show!
As for the performances? We’re partial to Cameron Webber (William Lipton), Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy), and Trina Robinson (Sydney Mikayla) taking the stage. The vocals, the music, and the vibe of the stage setup was great. It made us long for nights on the beach and brought a hopeful vibe.
ABC ‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Lowlights
As for the downside? We have to call out both Brook Lynn Quartermaine (Briana Lane) and Nelle Benson (Chloe Lanier) for their big confrontation. The idea Brook Lynn confronted her personally rather than call Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) is baffling. Plus, the idea she actually stopped and turned around when Nelle called her back.
Then there is Nelle. After attacking Brook Lynn, she made what is the dumbest move yet. After cleaning off the scissors she used to get rid of fingerprints, she touched them again—bare-handed. Seriously? This girl is heading back to Pentonville, no question.
