So, General Hospital spoilers indicate Nikolas’ return was an iffy one. He’s been pulling one questionable stunt after another, all in the name of revenge. Sure, he has a reason to be angry with Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart). But the amount of wreckage left behind in that quest is massive.
A family feels betrayed now that Nikolas’ living status went public. Plus, a mother separated from her child, a couple of near-deaths, and a blackmail scheme that added to the anger in this family. But the latest is worse. So, what has this revealed about these characters?

For one, it seems Nikolas learned nothing from the mess that is his return. After dealing with a lot of backlash for his revenge scheme, he decided to up the ante. This time, he got Spencer Cassadine (Nicolas Bechtel) involved. You might remember that Spencer gave an ultimatum before the break. But things worked out—for now.
It seems Spencer sympathized with Nikolas over the post-nup situation. This shows that he might actually be worse than Valentin. While seeing Charlotte Cassadine (Scarlett Fernandez) follow in his footsteps freaked Valentin out, Nikolas doesn’t seem to care. He actually teamed up with Spencer for a new scheme to make Ava feel pity and walk away. This backfired bad.
Ava learned the truth and she’s decided not to walk away. Plus, a heated argument over his plan looked to be heading for a kiss. We’re not surprised. That seems to be where a lot of these stories go. Look at Gabi Hernandez (Camila Banus) on Days of Our Lives? She ended up falling for Stefan DiMera (Brandon Barash), only to tragically lose him shortly after they legitimately got together.

Meanwhile, there’s Ava. After her defaced portrait was revealed to all her guests, she and Franco Baldwin (Roger Howarth) had a long talk. It seems there’s way more to Ava’s thing than getting back at Nikolas for making her think she was crazy.
Or using Kiki Jerome’s (Hayley Erin) death to manipulate her. Ava revealed she has nothing left at this point. The emptiness is unbearable and she thinks being stuck in a loveless union with someone she hates/hates her is preferable to being alone.

So, where’s this going? General Hospital spoilers indicate there’s already tension between Franco and Elizabeth Webber (Rebecca Herbst). We honestly feel they’re setting up a breakup, and this situation with Ava is helping to drive that wedge in between them.
We expect this to get worse, especially since we think Elizabeth will continue to push for Nikolas to take off, while Franco will see the other side of things and possibly come to Ava’s defense.
As for Nikolas, we see a lot of bad ahead. If he does fall for Ava, Spencer won’t take well to that, and it will likely end up keeping a wedge between them. Even if Spencer and Nikolas ultimately keep plotting, this will make Nikolas look worse, and will keep him further away from his family than he already is.
