ABC ‘General Hospital’ (GH) spoilers reveal we’re a little disappointed. We were expecting a lot more from Sonny Corinthos’ (Maurice Benard) return than what we got. Although, we suppose the can’t-miss stuff is yet to come. Because the Sonny we saw in the Tuesday, September 21st episode seemed surprisingly accepting. Let’s talk what happened and what may come.
ABC ‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Keeping us on our toes
First, we have to saw we were pleasantly surprised to see we were wrong about something. We figured they’d misdirect us into thinking Sonny was walking into the same room as Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) and Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright). In fact, we thought they might drag this out over a couple of episodes.
Instead, they got right to the point. Sonny walked in and Carly fainted. When she came to, she was thrilled to see he was there for real, and the three quickly got down to business. Jason and Carly filled Sonny in on some of what’s happened since he went missing.
We’re actually surprised Sonny approved of every move, basically. Including the wedding. He took everything in stride and didn’t look the least bit upset or betrayed to see his love and right hand married. We supposed that’s some of “Mike” (Benard) still deep inside, as well as the relief of just being home again.
ABC ‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: One problem
Another issue we had with the scene was when Carly talked about Donna missing him. Donna was an infant when Sonny “died”, and she’d been calling Jason dad instead. So we don’t see how she could, at that age, miss someone she didn’t get a chance to know. Sure, as kids get older, they miss losing the chance to know their parent, but this is far too soon.
More likely, we think Carly was saying that mostly because of her own relief. Not to mention, sparing Sonny. It’d likely be hard to deal with the idea his youngest doesn’t even know him and thinks of another man as her father. In that case, this could be a fun thing to play on later. After all, a guy can’t just come back from the dead without some complications.
ABC ‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Taking it back
Finally, ‘General Hospital’ spoilers indicate the conversation should continue in the days ahead, and Sonny will want to focus on business and the five families. Especially since they tried to blow Carly and Jason’s limo up. He will not take that lightly, and will likely want to come back bigger and tougher than before.
We’re thinking this will be ugly, especially if Jason’s plan worked and two of them are now dead. The ones left (with one exception) will want to hit back, and there could be legal questions ahead. Something tells us Port Charles is going to be a mess for a while, and Diane Miller (Carolyn Hennessy) might be working overtime.
