ABC ‘General Hospital’ (GH) spoilers reveal the 2019 Nurses’ Ball finally gave Liesl Obrecht (Kathleen Gati) a chance to be onstage on purpose. She would have in 2018, but unforeseen circumstances led her to be replaced for the big night. Let’s take a look at the performance, and a couple of nice moments from the event.
ABC ‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Finally!
We’ve made no secret that we love Liesl and her onstage antics at the bar. We were glad to see she actually was invited this time, and amused at the same time. It sounds like they just gave up and figured, “Why not? She’s gonna crash the stage anyway.” This time, she went for a less flashy song choice, one she performed with Franco Baldwin (Roger Howarth). They did all right together, and the staging was great. It fit the tone of the song well, and it was fun to see Elizabeth Webber’s (Rebecca Herbst) surprise when he stepped onstage.
That brings us to another part of this we liked. Liesl went on stage by herself and when the male voice joined in, it was from behind the stage. The confusion in the crowd was obvious, and we think that made the performance better.
ABC ‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Highlight performance
However, General Hospital spoilers indicate there was a stronger link this time around. We’re sure it had a lot to do with the emotional connection with the performance, because it was Cameron Webber (William Lipton) performing a song in the wake of Oscar Nero’s (Garren Stitt) death. The lyrics were so moving, and we loved the images projected on the screen behind him.
The performance just happened to coincide with Josslyn Jacks’ (Eden McCoy) last-minute arrival and we noticed a shift in the performance. It was like Cameron was singing directly to Joss about being her north star through all the pain she’s dealing with. We honestly think they’d be a great pairing in the future. But there is a darker side to the ball, and we wonder if it ties into current Port Charles.
ABC ‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Cursed?
As we’ve watched this journey through the Nurses’ Ball, we noticed it’s got a terrible track record. Elizabeth experienced a shock right after getting a proposal. One that led to a bad situation as she tried to hide Jason Morgan’s (Billy Miller) true identity. And we know what happened to Lucas Jones (Ryan Carnes) and Brad Cooper (Parry Shen) after a Nurses’ Ball proposal.
That makes us believe that Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) and Hamilton Finn (Michael Easton) are not making it down the aisle. Anna’s denial over Peter August (Wes Ramsey) has been a sticking point with them before, so we’re expecting that to come up again and maybe drive that final wedge between them. Especially since Peter’s featured so prominently in several balls.
